SHIWA BIWA SHIWABIWA/XIWA SHIWABIWA, aka Shira Shvadron, is A DJ based in Tel-Aviv. In 2014 she embarked on a journey within Africa for 8 month, traveling in 9 countries.

In the last 5 years since Shiwa started DJing, she has established herself as a prominent DJ in the scene of TLV. She published independently mixtapes on her Soundcloud that gathered thousands of listeners around the world. Like a true 2010’s digger, she mostly enjoys finding new and unfamiliar exciting Artists/Producers and she’s always curious to find how rhythm and melody from different origins

mixes together. She has a background in Dance and music, and in her undergraduate degree she wrote 2 seminar works on dance and movement combined with music. Inspired by the artists and music she encountered, she started to promote new music from all around Africa everywhere she could. In 2015 she helped established the music blog “Kolot Me Africa” that focused on promoting African music in Israel made locally and from the continent. She founded the all Female 3 DJ collective “ANANAS” that mixes up Dancehall, Afropop and Baile-Funk in their events, which has become a platform for new and emerging female DJ’s in the scene. She did radio shows in England (Radar Radio ,1BTN) and played in the clubs Patterns(Brighton), Vernissage (Moscow), The Block (TLV) and more. She is a resident DJ in Teder.fm with her own radio show “Salty Surfaces”, that had turn into a party line called “Salty”, which focuses on bending genre club ready tunes from across the globe, giving platform for new palestinian pop and trap music. In the past she hosted in her events Daniel Haaksman (Berlin), Coco-Em (Kenya) and Jinku (Kenya). And recently joined the new and independent music label “Sifon”.

Hosting Crabbe Troopa from Paris/Montreuil, Crabbe is half of the groundbreaking french duo - Jess & Crabbe, together they created some of the earliest and tightest compilations of global club music under the name of Bazzerk. Featuring underground artists from angola (kuduru) and Venezuela (changa tuki). Since the late 80’s, crabbe hasn’t stopped shaping and leading the experimental, global club Dance scene. Three years exactly I’ve been doing the Salty Surfaces radioshow! Hosting special producers and guests from all around the world, that’s why I thought it would be fitting to move the show and broadcast it from and give it the proper global radio platform.

Today for the first Salty Surfaces show on I’ll be hosting .recordsza and from Durban, SA with tons of unreleased music, i’ve been following these guys since 2018 with their epic track “African war zone”.
