🗡 Knight of Swords - what's the rush?

I took a tarot card out for a coffee, I challenged my tarot students to do this last week and decided to do it too! I had a black filter coffee, the Knight of Swords had a double espresso. No fuss, no waiting, no nonsense, just fuel.

The Knight of Swords in tarot to me can sometimes feel like teenage angst, being in a rush to grow up but not stopping to enjoy the fun things on the way, a sense of urgency but not necessarily linked to a purpose.

I see the Court Cards as duel elements. Knights are fire, Swords are air, so the Knight of Swords is basically a load of hot air. Can be good in a crisis because they have that drive and logic, but there's not much grounding them and they're not so great at forging meaningful relationships.

They are competitive, racing forward, determined to reach the goal no matter the consequences. They can be great in a business sense if you need things done fast, the fire side of them also carries an unexpected creativity and leadership skills. They move quickly and when they stop, may suddenly find themselves feeling a bit lonely and a bit empty.

This has been me at times when I worked in corporate ad sales. Survival mode. Getting from one day to the next, hoping to soon slow down. I was always on. It didn't suit me. Death by email.

👩A human head – you value companionship, a lover, or a big focus on looks and beauty

👻A veiled figure – you take time to explore the mysteries of life, spiritual connection, and psychic abilities

🐍A snake – you are tempted by things that may appear taboo, you are sexual, you are transformative

🏰A castle – you crave and value stability, especially within in the home. Your physical space is important to you

💎A load of jewels - you value the material, luxury, and shiny things

🏅A laurel wreath – you love to win! You accept the challenge and seek out status and victory... at all costs... notice the little skull carved into the chalice?

🐲A dragon – you love a little bit of chaos! You seek new experiences, travel, and things out of the ordinary. You possibly also seek escapism

✨️This spread is designed to help you engage with your authentic self, while getting to know the court cards deeper too (you can use any cards, but I feel the courts work well for this particular spread).

👑Court cards feel incredibly personal, and the deck you choose will have a huge impact on the outcomes this time around, so pick a deck with well illustrated cards that you feel you can relate to.

👽If you don’t like the cards that represent you, take a moment to ask yourself why? Is it that they are too truthful, or perhaps there is something that you need to shake up to be comfortable with yourself.

⭐️The universal theme for 2025 is The Hermit, based on numerology. 2+2+5=9. The Hermit is card 9 of the Major Arcana in tarot in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck and many other traditional tarot decks.

⏳️The Hermit is not a loner or a loser. They are, in fact, one of the wisest archetypes in the whole tarot deck. Originally, The Hermit was depicted with an hourglass, showing that they understand the value of time. But what does this mean for you?

🎴Before you read a description, take a moment to connect with The Hermit, either in this image or from your own tarot deck, and check in to see how you feel about this card. Can you relate? Does it make you uncomfortable? Why?

🕯The Hermit is a subtle energy, representing growth and personal enlightenment. Use 2025 to focus on your own needs before the needs of others and really carve out some time for yourself. Make sure to explore both the small things in life that bring you comfort and joy, as well as bigger things that you may even describe as your 'purpose'.

🎁 I will be closing orders for written tarot forecasts for both individuals and gifts on Friday 20th December to give me a chance to do these.

🖤 This is the face of someone who is tired. Exhausted, in fact. I'm burnt out to the point of experiencing vertigo from extreme stress.

🔥Burn out is not a badge of honour. It is not a term I use lightly either. I've pushed myself really hard this year, and while it looks like my life is all fun events and fabulous black dresses, there's much more to it.

🌲I'm taking a step back this December. I've got a few events booked in, but I'm not filling my calendar or posting every day. I'm still offering 2025 forecasts and readings, but these are limited. My efforts are mostly going into resting and planning for next year.

💙Every time I do a tarot reading, whether it be 5 minutes or an hour, I'm opening myself up to take on the emotions and trauma of others. It gets heavy. Plus, there's the constant putting myself out there for jobs, rejection, competition, and fear that I won't make rent each month. The events I work are often loud and crowded environments that lead to sensory overwhelm I love my job, but it's a lot sometimes as I'm highly sensitive.

🧸I'll be semi hibernating! So don't panic if you don't see me in your feed, I'm still here, just giving myself a well earned rest.

🏹 Tonight is the New Moon in Sagittarius. It's said to bring some much needed energy and motivation!

🔥I've been battling through some health things and feel very sluggish at the moment, so definitely need to reframe some things.

🌑You can keep the spread generalist, or use it for a specific focus. I'm choosing to do this spread for myself to look at how I can reshape my habits and get a routine... which feels very unlike Jupiter/Sagittarius but maybe that's exactly what I need!

4) How can I find my flow?

💙I had my aura photographed by the fabulous Melissa at HausWitch in Salem. The results brought me to tears...in a good way. If you're in Salem, I 100% recommend.

😛I had a feeling that I carry serious energy...so I stuck my tongue out to bring some cheeky lightheartedness...it didn't work.

🧐I was sceptical. During the week of Halloween, three separate people who I did readings for told me that they could see auras and mine was blue. I thought it's because I was sitting under blueish light... but it turns out... they're right.

🫂What does this mean? Unsurprisingly, lots of people in our lovely group had blue in their aura. It's a colour that represents caring for others and having a strong connection to your intuition.

🎨The shades of blue in mine are blue, indigo, and aquamarine. I'm deep, caring, provide space for others and have a big heart. I possibly give too much and desperately need grounding (all the Mercury in my chart agrees!).

⚪️The four blobs above my head are orbs aka spirit guides. Hey friends 👻👻👻👻

🧙‍♀️I didn't take many snaps in Salem due to my injury, but here's a few! The highlight by far were all the new friends I made...I'll be coming back to visit you all!

🧀I learned about purse cheese...literally keeping emergency cheese in your handbag.

🦑Played increasingly odd rounds of "hear me out." Cthulhu seems normal by this point.

👻Lead my first séance on my brand new used 1966 Ouija Board.

🕯Took part in lots of lovely group rituals and workshops.
