The winner of the North East Old Skools National Anthem poll is Neils Van Gogh's "Pulverturm" (DJ Tomcraft Remix), triumphing over Matt Darey's remix of Westbam's "Wizards of Sonic." Although camera phones weren't a thing back then—which, I'm sure everyone agrees, was a good thing—some very forward-thinking led to the creation of the amazing ITV series CLUBAVISION. Sonic began his DJ journey at 16, starting out at student discos such as the Junior Ross and the No Name, and quickly made a name for himself around Drogheda. His break came in 1999 when he started DJing at the iconic Kiss Night Club in Drogheda, where he quickly became a local favorite. After Kiss closed, Stephen continued to showcase his talent at top venues across Ireland, including The Vaults, The Mezz Club 52, Voodoo lounge, The Quest House, Kennedys in Thurles. On the evening of May 21, 1993, Bellingham Castle in County Louth was brimming with a different kind of history.
