Happy Mother's Day! So happy to pick up some GORGEOUS Delphinium, Anemone, Ranunculus and Tulips from Green Dragon/Jenny's Edible Flowers in Falmouth and add them to some stems I had in stock so I could create one last arrangement for Mother's Day! Trying to support more local growers this season and this was a really great connection! Thank You, Jenny for your beautiful blooms! Also picked up sone amazing specialty basil while I was there!

The winter crud of all the colds, flus, and stomach viruses has been circulating through our house the last couple of weeks. My go to mood lifter? Flowers. 😜 Something about white ranunculus just hits right and these winter whites make me feel the crispness and the snap we get in the air. I can close my eyes and pretend the pretty white snow with blue skies is back instead of the dreary blah days of January on the Cape!

A quick diversion from flowers. For those of you who don't know me, in my former career I was a painter. The bulk of my work was decorative and design and I loved it but, burned out a little and moved to the art of flowers! My good friend commissioned me to do a painting as a present and I enjoyed doing it so much! So, now as I move into my slow season, I'm offering this to all of you! I'm taking a limited number of requests and you can just message me for more information. Fair warning that I only dabbled in art as a minor so, I'm not claiming to be a professional. However, this makes a great gift for Christmas, Holidays, Birthdays and Anniversaries and is just a fun, meaningful gift because it is personalized to your life! I work really well from photos and you can customize what you add in...people, pets, favorite boats etc. I am NOT a portrait artist so, I can't do a full size of your pet or loved ones but, can incorporate them as part of a broader composition. I'm open to any ideas you might have! Reach out soon if you are hoping to do this as a Holiday gift. The latest I can take requests is March 2024 as I start transitioning back to flowers then. Looking forward to hearing your ideas!

I am always surprised at how well the flowers hold up after an event. These made it to Nantucket and back from a wedding on Friday. They spent the night in my car because I was too tired to unpack it from the late ferry. Only a couple of wilted blooms today! Also, next image is of one of my favorite textural items to use for a beachy wedding-scabiosa stellata seed pods. Nature is amazing.

Reds! Sometimes these bright lush reds are just the thing! I have a client who loves red and it's always fun to find new ways to put them together. This time, I think it is the fun vase that I like. I have no idea where it is from but, it is a grey glass half circle. If anyone knows the supplier, please share so I can order more😍 this one was gifted to me. Also, thinking of adding this as a stock item if I ever get around to developing my website offerings. I need a good fun name though....comment if you have any ideas. I might just make all my red options the "Kim" 😉

Take this advice...splurge on the linens, the chargers and all the little extras...choose some fun containers ...give your florist a little leeway...it makes it all a little extra special. After the party...I swung by to freshen up some flowers from Tuesday and things still looked pretty fresh! Had so much fun getting creative for amazing event at the ! I even made a bow out of Aspidistra leaves! Here are some detail shots. I'm currently obsessed with my Rex begonias for their amazing foliage and used them in my fancy new cocktail table gold bud vases. I first spotted this begonia at and knew I needed to start adding them to my moodier arrangements! Unfortunately, I missed the party but, so lucky to be part of this amazing wedding vendor community on Cape Cod! Bri from had the place decked out and Christina from dressed up her marquee with flowers as well as the guests with flower crowns. You really, really loved your flowers and I am proud to say that the things you liked about me were that I worked WITH you to take your beautiful vision and turn it into beautiful flowers for one of the most important days of your life! THANK YOU all. Thank you for trusting me! THANK YOU very much. The second reason this means so much to me? I did this (with lots of amazing help) through a really crazy year following a series of crazy years. I had no idea that when I shattered my arm at the beginning of the season in June, that I would not even be approved to drive until September! A brief sidetrack from flowers. I used to paint for a living. I’m my own worst critic but, I really loved creating this water and light for a friend at a very special spot. My favorite was working on my painting while an insane sunset was happening as my backdrop. I feel incredibly lucky after being able to be completely absorbed in this for a few days. That’s all. I just wanted to share. A brief moment of nurturing my soul and appreciating this incredibly beautiful place we live in.

Big Shout out to my team for a successful first installation of the season! Bringing it big to Nantucket is not for the faint of heart! Besides my florist team, the team for Nantucket this time included an incredibly nice person who let my flowers stay overnight in her air conditioned cottage, my brother who let me use his car and apartment, my friend for being my constant ambassador to Nantucket, my favorite taxi driver who always helps me haul flowers, the entire boat basin team for always being so nice, Jen and Sherri out at , an incredible mother of the bride who made the tables look very well dressed, and of course, James who guarded my flowers decorating the woody! I’m sure I’m forgetting many helpers along the way but, I think this second shot captures what it takes to get everything out to the island successfully! I’ll share the professional photos when they come in. The previews the photographer sent so far are Stunning!!! Let’s go! Season is here!
