I don’t know who needs to hear this but... you don’t need to hit rock bottom to decide you want to get sober.
Trust me, I get it. We hear those stories about shattered lives – the DUIs, the lost jobs, the broken relationships. But here’s the thing, you don’t have to wait for your life to implode to know something’s not quite right.
As a mom, I felt it in my gut, that nagging feeling that maybe, just maybe, I was relying a little too much on alcohol to get through the day. And let me tell you, admitting that to myself was tough. But you know what? Taking that first step towards sobriety (even if it was more of a hungover crawl) was one of the bravest things I’ve ever done for myself.
Sure, it’s had its moments of doubt, of wondering if… if I’m too boring now, if my old friends still like me, if people think I’m preachy if I talk about being sober…
If I am missing out on the big party…?
But two years in I can confidently say, I’m not.
So to all the moms out there who feel that tug in their hearts, that whisper saying, ‘Maybe it’s time for a change,’ trust me, you’re not alone. And there’s nothing wrong with you!!

Honestly, every time I sit down and think about the things I wish I could tell little me… I always start and then I always backtrack… because at the end of the day I think I would be too afraid to change anything…
Because if you change anything… then you might change everything.
So instead I would try and tell the up and coming little ones out there:
1. Adventuring is better than partying.
2. That boy, ya you don’t really need that boy.
3. You can do anything sober that you can drunk… and you can do it better.
4. Anddd wanting to be under the water more than above it isn’t weird, it’s a gift 🤍🫶🏼
