Win number 3 for Shayna Powless out of the 5 races so far into the Chicago Grit!!
She is now in the yellow jersey, the overall points leader for the whole series, and has the momentum going into the second half of the series!

Jason James Rimmer , Bear Race Events, and Frank Shoemaker teamed up this year to take on the all mighty Downieville Classic Mountain Bike Race and Festival!
We were 3 out of the 4 photographers out there taking photos all along the course for both days of racing. And we made sure to try and get photos of everyone!
Big shout out to Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship, Santa Cruz Bicycles and of course all the racers who gave it their all for the 26th edition of the Downieville Classic!

The first all female enduro in California is happening October 5th in Georgetown CA!
We have categories for all ages and every skill level to support all women riders out there and encourage all of them to come out to the event.
With the ladies of leading the charge you know this is going to be a bike event full of positivity, support, and most importantly FUN!

It has been an exciting race so far and we are heading into the last week of the Tour De France as they head to Nice!

Tomorrow is the start of the 2024 Le Tour de France!!
Like a lot of people here in California and the US, we will be watching every day and cheering on Neilson Powless as he enters his 5th Tour de France appearance.

Along with being a professional cyclist Shayna Powless has also started her own coaching business called Powless Performance. In 2018 she became a USA Cycling certified coach with a background in psychology and physical therapy. Since then she has had the privilege to work with a very diverse group of athletes of various levels and abilities from juniors, beginners and recreational riders, and professional athletes.
Elizabeth DeFauw, winner of the Mid South Gravel and Unbound 100 shares her story of how Shayna helped her become the cyclist she wanted to be.
“My goals as a cyclist and dream to become a professional have become much more clear and achievable. Shayna has helped me with so many things: training, goals, nutrition, races, strategies, future opportunities, recovery, family and even just life.
I am so thankful to have her as my coach and mentor! I am always so incredibly excited every single week with my training plan and about how I can do my best in every workout. I look forward to continuing training under her for years to come!”
Shayna also has been competing ever since she was a young kid, and has been putting up top results with overall wins in road stage races, Top 5 in the Unbound 200, and National Titles in XC MTB and Off-Road Triathlon.

All the trails are open and Aaron and his friends are out there building more trails and features every week!
On September 15th the day after the Mills Peak X-Duro, we will be hosting an enduro race at Everstoke Bike Park which is less than a mile away from the Mills Peak venue! The enduro will be using the most popular downhill trails within the park full of berms, jumps and handmade features.
Everstoke is open 7 days a week and has camping available 365 days a year. Make sure you head out there early and check out the trails and you will understand why they call this place Everstoke!

Mills Peak Trail is all clear of snow and riding great!
On September 14th we will be hosting the Mills Peak X-Duro in Graeagle, CA, the heart of the Lost Sierra. After climbing to the top of the mountain riders will be treated to 45 minute downhill with never ending technical flow! The Mills Peak X-Duro is also downhill race within a cross country race. Once riders reach the top of the mountain the timer starts for the downhill section of the race. Awards will be given for the top 3 overall in each category for the cross country race and for the fastest time in each category on the downhill.
Rather you’re in it for the downhill or the whole xc race, the Mills Peak X-Duro is geared towards every type of mountain bike rider.

I feel pretty lucky to be a part of this crew putting on 9 different high school and middle school race and hosting about 3000 people every weekend!
Every race for me is an opportunity to learn more about race production and watch all the emotions as each racer crosses the finish line. And every race for me is an opportunity to connect with a community that I feel so lucky to be a part of.

What a weekend that was out at the Nevada City Enduro! We had great weather, great trails to ride on, great people to ride/race with, and some pretty great tacos at the end!

I wanted to give a thank you to all the racers, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and land owners who brought the vibes and helped make this event a big success!
I also wanted to give a big shout out to to Bicyclists Of Nevada County , Hoot Trail, and all the other volunteers who spent many many hours to create a beautifully built trail network that not only we got to race on but has also put Nevada City on the map as one of biggest mountain bike destinations that we have here in California! The Nevada City Enduro would not be possible if it wasn’t for the community of riders who fell in love with the area and put the time and effort in to help make this place grow!
Thank you to the community of Nevada City for letting us host a race event on your home trails!
We all look forward to bringing everyone back out for the 2025 edition of the Nevada City Enduro, and until then we hope to see you all out at the other race events we have going on for the rest of the year!

We are just two days out till the Nevada City Enduro!
Categories, start times, and registration times can now be found on the Nevada City Enduro Race Book on the racing section of our website!
We can use some extra help out there during the race.. If you live in the Nevada City area or just want to drive out for the day, we need people out on course to be part of the cheer squad for the racers! Every racer out there can use some motivation from a cheer squad and you can be part of that!
Extra points will be given for:
-Dressing up
-Bringing music
-Bringing out the rowdiness
For direction on how to bring up the rowdiness on the cheer squad find on race day.
After all the racing has finished come on out and join us at the Scott’s Flat Lake Gate 1 Campground for the after party/awards ceremony and taco’s served up by Taqueria La Herradura!
And if you still haven't registered to race yet, make sure you do that before online registration closes Friday at 11:59 AM!

We are just two days out until the start of the Exchequer Extravaganza!! (Yes, I’ve looked at the weather) Race categories, start times and all the other details for the race weekend can be found on the Racebook in the racing section of the Exchequer website: https://bearadventure.wixsite.com/exchequermtb Online registration will be closing at 12 PM on Thursday. We will have on-site registration but for an extra $15. So make sure you sign up before Thursday at 12! The weather is looking good for the enduro on Sunday but we will be trying our best to keep everyone out of the rain for the xc on Saturday. Keep an eye out in your email for any changes to the start times. We look forward to kicking off the mountain bike season with everyone at the Exchequer Extravaganza!
The cross country will be a 6.3 mile lap with 1140 feet of climbing per lap. Right off of the start line races will be heading up the mountain until you reach the very top. From the xc races will drop down the Flying Squirrel downhill which is one of the most fun downhills in the park! This xc downhill is fast and flowy! Everything is rollable but there are some chunk here and there to keep you on your toes. Check out the video below to see what the xc downhill is all about! Last year Nutty Cross got things right for a cyclocross event. With the perfect venue at Ruhstaller Brewery, the right vibe with the live bands all day, and the super fun course that winds through the walnut orchard. This year we are making it a little more special by bringing in kids races, awards, and camping for everyone who wants to hang out at Ruhstaller Brewery until it closes. Biggest goal I accomplished on the bike for 2021 was trying to do the Downieville Shuttle Run in under an hour and making it in the top 6 on Strava. I never put so much prep and determination into a downhill segment before, and I'm happy to was able to push my limits to new boundaries and find out what I am capable of! With the Downieville Classic being canceled for another year, I'm not exactly sure what my goal will be for 2022 right now. Do you guys have any big on the bike goals for the new year?
