While the first two days of this year's Footbrake Feast saw similar entry counts, Sunday saw a significant increase with 229 drivers taking a swing at the $7500 payday. As the dust on a great weekend began to settle six drivers remained.

Cody Kirk (VA) took out MIR legend George Windsor (MD) with a .004 initiated .015 total run. Seth Phillips (VA) used an .011 starting line edge over Marty Flegal (PA), forcing Marty to drop anchor at the finish line in hopes of pushing him out. In the race of the round Soggy Dunn (PA) and John Londino (NC) left the starting line just .001 apart and ended the exact same way, both running dead 9, with Soggy claiming the narrow victory.

Phillips used another fantastic reaction time (.010) to put up .029 total to end Dunn's weekend who missed the tree on his way to a dead 1 run. Kirk took his bye run to set up the final round of the weekend.

This one was over before the 60 foot cone as Phillips turned it -.004, provided the electricity Kirk was looking for in his lane. Cody was ready for vengeance, after Phillips beat him earlier in the day and left .002 before both drivers coasted across the finish line.

Saturday's Footbrake Feast action brought 251 competitors together chasing the $10K check. By round 7 just six drivers dreams of parking on the dance floor remained.

Matt Ricchezza (NC) returned to the quarterfinals for the 2nd straight day, moved on this time winning a finish line battle over Seth Phillips when both drivers were strangely significantly down on mph when they crossed the finish line. Phillips ended up .003 under to the .001 under of Ricchezza. Travis Leake (VA), who ended up buying back in a rental S-10 after breaking his Mustang, continued the Cinderella story put up .028 total against a red-lighting Dave Harvey (NJ). In a rematch of Friday's final Jonathan Martin (VA) turned the tables on Nick Scheckelhoff (OH). Though behind .005 at the hit, he stayed in front when both tried their best Houdini impressions top end, running 1 above to the 2 above of Scheckelhoff.

Martin and Ricchezza put on an absolute show in the semis. Ricchezza was .012 and got behind .004 to be just two thousandths out. As impressive as it was, he was just wasting gas as Martin wheeled his way to .006 total to send him to his 2nd final round of the weekend and give him a chance to repeat as the Feast Saturday Champion. Leake took his bye to set the final round matchup.

The fairy tale ended for Leake in the final, as he turned it red, handing the win to Martin who was .017 and .001 under on the victory pass. Discussions are underway to rename the Saturday event to the Jonathan Martin Classic.

111 drivers took another shot in the Saturday Gambler's race. Scott Drayer (PA) collected his first FRBR check in the Skelly family Blazer using a .014 holeshot to edge Rich Wendler (PA) by just .002 at the stripe.

The Footbrake Feast is FRBR's most southern event and brings a large number of racers from outside the traditional PA, MD, NJ cluster. Those drivers showed out on Friday when 209 entries thinned down to the final 5.

Nick Scheckelhoff (OH) used a 3 hundredths starting line advantage to end Jr Dragster grad Peyton Bunch's (VA) day. Peter Kivett (MD) was .027 total pushing Matt Ricchezza (NC) to be razor precise at the stripe. Matt took .008 to break out just .002 and send Kivett on. Last year's Saturday champ Jonathan Martin (VA) sent a message laying down .004 total on his bye run.

Martin continued his clinic in the semis where .016 dead 0 bested the .027 light of Kivett while Scheckelhoff sat out the bye.

In the Ohio vs. Virginia final round the Scheckelhoff got out first with a 13 thousandths starting line edge forcing Martin into a breakout run trying to get around him. Nick made the most of his 8+ hour trip to take home his first FRBR trophy.

In Gambler's action Jake Knarr (PA) was .004 on his way to .021 total to end the historic run of Sharon Peters (Cam Murray, NH) who spent the weekend announcing and running EFR's Blazer.
