The time has come to say THANK YOU! Thank you to Pelee Island Community Arts and Pelee island Heritage Centre for founding partnership in The Island Unplugged Music Festival. In 2014, these two registered charities came together to help form a brand new not for profit corporation on Pelee Island; Pelee Island Cultural Events. As a result, the festival ran 6 consecutive years of festival events attracting over 60 bands and singer-songwriters to our island, bringing original live music performance and building community pride. Over 7000 volunteer hours were contributed by over 65 people whose passion and positivity made this event a success. Pelee Island Cultural Events remains dedicated to promoting creativity and supporting arts and culture on Pelee Island through artistic expression, civic engagement, and community partnership; but will no longer stage a festival at East Park Campground formerly known as The Island Unplugged. Acknowledging that Covid-19 was transformative for us all; we have to consider a new way to sustainably deliver our mandate going forward. Pelee Island Cultural Events will look for a new direction and we hope we can count on valued partnership from sponsors, funders, and friends in the future. We hope that a legacy of supporting each other and sharing resources lives on in future endeavors.
Thank you
