We are over half way through our Teacher in Residency project with only 2 primary schools remaining to take part in the residency this spring.
It has been a fantastic start to the year delivering these residencies across schools in Herts & Beds, working on elements of dancing mindfulness such as non-judgement, trust and letting go 💫
We would love to share this quote from a year 6 pupil at the end of their residency ‘It helped me to feel safer in my body and it taught me to just be myself’.

And just like that our Autumn Tour of Magical Minds 2023 is over ⭐️
Magical Minds has reached 10 new primary schools across Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire, we’ve worked with 1575 children who’ve engaged in the Magical Minds performance and Dancing Mindfulness workshops ⭐️
What did the children think it was all about …
💬"How to handle your emotions”
💬 “you need to feel all your emotions because it can teach you lots of stuff”
💬 “even if it’s hard, never give up”
What did the staff think ….
💬 “As a result of today my students will have a greater vocabulary to articulate their feelings and it’s good to hear from external voices that we need to feel lows and highs. Increasingly important as the stresses and strains on modern children seem to be greater and greater”
This tour has all been made possible thanks to our funders @aceagrams and our wonderful team @maya_waghorn @florriverti @kellyhornemovement @hattie.harding @artyamy__ @deadpandancetheatre
forever and ever proud of this evolving project & the impact it’s having on little minds, until next time 🧠
Theres not much good news at the moment but today was a very good news / special kinda day for us as we ran our first ever Mindful Movement training session for Primary Schools as part of our newest project funded by @kensingtonandchelseacouncil ⠀
⠀
It wasn’t supposed to be like this but we didn’t let Covid ruin the importance of our work and supporting childrens mental health and wellbeing. It was a beautiful moment seeing teachers engage in the Dancing Mindfulness practice in their classroom and at home beginning our long term goal of having the practice in every school across London 💛⠀
⠀
Thank you @jemimahfreeside for your beautiful facilitation, this is just the beginning ...

We love seeing our students practicing their dances at home throughout lockdown. We have missed teaching you all and can’t wait until we are back up and running again 🌈💥

Dancing Mindfulness online
It’s Mental Health Awareness Week & the theme is Kindness!
This week we are running our Dancing Mindfulness 1:1 support sessions via Zoom, launching “Mindfulness with Rachel” over on Instagram Live on Wednesday at 5:30pm and releasing week 3 of “Dance For All” (family dance classes supporting wellbeing and family bonding).
We hope you’ll join us for some movement and mindfulness as we continue to promote healthy minds and bodies!
Here’s a lovely poem from the Mental Health Foundation to remind us why kindness is so important for our mental health 🌟
“At times like these, when the world feels upside down, kindness can be the key to turning things around. Kindness has the power to create community, support and hope, a helping hand that says you’re not alone when you face that upward slope. A little act of kindness can boost your mental health, it can lower stress and cheer your mood to think of someone else. And of course, don’t forget to be kind to yourself. It doesn’t have to take a lot, cause even the smallest spark can be the thing to light the way when someone’s world feels dark. Remember; KINDNESS MATTERS MOST
