Level up your improv skills this spring with our Contact Improvisation Class into Jam sessions 💫

Come and join Sophie to explore some of the techniques that underpin contact improvisation in a relaxed, fun and nurturing environment.

In this class, we’ll focus on building trust and a heightened awareness, listening and responding in the moment. This will be an opportunity to find new connections, both in the body and with others as together you fall into motion, momentum and flow, leading into a jam to finish the class.

While the session is open to everyone aged 18 and over, prior experience of moving with others in a dance setting would be helpful. This session is ideal if you dance already and for those of you wanting to deepen your contact improvisation practice.

This 3-hour workshop is an introduction to contact improvisation: a partner dance form that explores shared weight, momentum and different points of contact.

Contact improvisation is a practice which helps you build a sensitive and responsive physical awareness. This introductory workshop is an opportunity for you to learn contact improvisation skills in a relaxed, safe setting. Perfect for those new to contact improvisation or anyone looking to refresh their skills!

Dance meets architecture 🌿💫

We’re in full swing preparing for Light Night 2025, and we’re so excited to show you more. The project is led by Tom Dale Company and Vent Media in partnership with Nottingham City Council, funded by Arts Council England.

The project involves participants from the communities of Nottingham alongside professionals. Get ready to watch as dancers appear to move with Nottingham’s iconic Council House, merging modern choreography with timeless architectural forms.

With projection mapping, we’ll bring classical columns and neoclassical beauty to life… an interplay of nature, symmetry, and futuristic imagination.
