These are the moments people will talk about for years to come—the laughter, the heartfelt toasts, the dance floor memories. But here’s the thing… you’re the person of the hour. You shouldn’t be worried about last-minute details or logistics.

Great events don’t just happen—they’re orchestrated. And they’re never a solo effort. Standing here with I’m reminded that successful events are never a solo effort. They require expert planning, strategic ex*****on, and trusted partnerships. When you have the right team behind you, you can rest easy, be fully present, and enjoy every second while someone else handles the little things.

Over the past week I’ve celebrated the success of another big event!

But, this post isn’t about the event - it’s about the fact that it couldn’t have been a success without the dedication of the team at the venue.

Last week’s event was a testament to the fact that behind every successful event is a team at a venue that understands the importance of adaptability and accommodation. They understand challenges can arise and are responsive in collaborating on ways to approach each challenge. This, makes all the difference. A team at a venue that is willing to work closely with both event planners like myself and the clients we’re all serving ensures a seamless and memorable experience for everyone!

This wonderfully talented and INCREDIBLY supportive duo of The Portofino Hotel & Marina Redondo Beach went above and beyond working on this event over the past year - staying positive, consistently uplifting, and being quick with the humor to keep things lighthearted. Seeing the event come to life - as beautifully and successfully as we all imagined - could not have happened without them and for that, I’m incredibly grateful!

So, I’ll leave you with this tip:

When you’re scouting venues for your event, remember to go beyond just the physical attributes of the space. Pay attention to how the team responds to your inquiries, their willingness to accommodate your requests, and whether you connect with them on a personal level. Since the planning process is extensive and involves ongoing communication, ensure you choose a venue team you genuinely enjoy interacting with. After all, you’ll be in frequent contact with them throughout the journey. Choose wisely!
