The MixMeister Championships 2020 Announcement Video
We are absolutely delighted to announce the return of the MixMeister Championships!
What is the MixMeister?
A 3 stage DJ competition in which we ultimately crown Loughborough Universities best DJ.
The Prizes?
1) A £250 Cash Prize.
2) The MIxMeister Championship Belt.
3) A set at an upcoming DBE event.
How to enter?
Submit a 30 minute mix to the email address '[email protected]' before 14/2/2020 (Valentines Day). Contestants can enter in on one of 2 music categories.
Category 1 - House, Techno, Disco.
Category 2 - Bassline, Drum & Bass, Garage.
What happens next?
After the deadline our judges will then select the best 8 from each category to compete in 2 heats (one heat per category. The dates of the heats will be announced later and the venue of each heat will be kept secret until the day of it.
At the heats each DJ will play a 30 minute set, our judges will then select the 2 best from each heat and they will go through to the final.
The final will take place on Tuesday 16th June at Firefly. The 4 finalists will battle it out against each other as well as the defending champion Sam Duncan who will be looking to retain his title.
How will it be judged?
The entry mixes and heats will be judged using a 3 part criteria comprised of: beatmatching, flow and song selection.
The final will be judged in similar fashion, however our judges will only have 50% of the say. The other 50% of the vote is down to you the crowd to decide.
