First and foremost. my brother. We did it again. It’s still a fever dream in my head. But we got through it. I say this as he’s working his arse off at the venue to get the last of it out the doors and I was sitting here all morning answering my neglected emails, WhatsApp’s and text messages back from the weekend.
Secondly all the panel members, guest titors tutors, judges, brands and everyone else from and my team at .cesca Leeon .mp3 and at Radio. All the DJ’s that came and played on the station across the weekend.
And most importantly. The people that came. The comunity. We couldn’t do it without you.
My brain and heart is full even if my body is empty. Hahaha.
I don’t do this for money or business. I do this for comunity and culture. Nothing makes me happier, and I don’t mean this egotostically, than to look out across the room and know that I made this happen. Obviously I don’t do it alone, by any stretch of the imagination, just see above. But to know I am making a real difference to the culture of DJ’ing in this city fills me with a feeling I can’t describe but is really the best thing I have done in these many years of my career. If it was all leading to this, then it was worth it. And I don’t just mean this show. I mean what happens after. The connection, the relationships, the inspiration, the inclusion and the comunity getting stronger.
I am a servant to this thing we have. Our culture. Our comunity. I just make stuff happen to facilitate it.
Thank you people. My heart is full of love and joy because of you lot.
