June was a mad one as well. It was my birthday month.

A lot going on.

and me did an workshop. Then I took 6 students from there and did an 8 week course with them. Good times.

The entire month was .show workshop month. So we did loads of them as well. Loads of new people came through and have stayed around. That always makes me happy!! Hash tag community and that.

I was invited to be on the 2 year anniversary show on Radio with … fun times

It was the last lesson of the 8 week course at

and threw me a birthday party. I am honestly still emotional about that now. Loads of my friends and students turned up. 🥹🥹

I also did a 3 decks vinyl mix, and one of my fave live remix / mashups I have done so far.

Last May was actually a pretty chill month. My outside-ness was massively reduced. Teaching, workshops, some record buying and a little social at house warming party.

Radio Takeover and workshops. That would eventually produce the DJ’s to play at this years .show

I did a little routine for the release on my label. I also went to event at their experience center and watched do his thing, then I did a bit of showing off.

The Old Man Scratch Club with me, and Jason (not on insta) was initiated for the first time.

And my 8 week group course graduated.

Also, I forgot to include in in March. But had an amazing event to benefit
mad these Hip Hop cakes to sell and I bought a DJ set up to give away in the raffle. What a great night that was. I was only there for the start, my set and a little social after then went home.

I played probably my fave gig of the year at . I received my mini PLX1000’s from a shop in Tokyo (trust me. One of my highlights of the year)
We also did a takeover on .radio and did her show. What a month. DJ’ed for her dad for the first time, Plus I got a bit of time in for some showing off.

Ok. Now’s a good time to start posting my recap of this last year.
Unfortunately, f**k all happened in Jan 2025 hahah. So I including some cool stuff from December 2024. 2025 didn’t start warming up until Feb TBH.

So here’s a random grab bag of cool stuff from December/Jan. including but not limited to

So in my ongoing pursuit to share my practice time, as truth be told I am well out of practice (welcome to running a small business people) here’s a little video of me doing some practice after an online lesson today. Not good, not bad, just trying to flow. Not every practice session has to be a masterpiece or something you would want to perform out. Just trying to work on flow.

For me, my scratching hero’s are Jazzy Jeff, DJ Premier and DJ Babu. These are the masters of my scratching world.

Trying to get my skills back up juggling and scratching with real vinyl. Not juggled with real vinyl in about 10 years outside of lessons. Recently been using mostly phase. So working on going back to weighting my hands and movements for vinyl again. You never really loose it but it gets blunt. So doing some simple drills with the classics to get my chops back up.
I have lost the feel a little, but with practice will get it back again.

For those that don’t know, when you scratch and juggle with real vinyl, the danger is always that the needle will skip. With DVS and phase, you don’t really get skips.

Fat shouts to for the VNL TRIX. They are sticking like that time I locked a lamppost in Edmonton in January.
