POV: J & E’s Wedding in Three Words
Warm. Refined. Inviting.

Ralph Lauren–inspired classic, cozy fall, but make it personal.
Touches of wood, leather, velvet, and an abundance of candlelight.

A ceviche and avocado station with Pisco Sours as a nod to their travels in Peru. An es**rt display showcasing “catalogue cards” from our groom’s anthropology and archaeological work. Surprise Thomas Sweet ice cream trays in honor of their favorite college date spot. Late-night espresso martinis, West Virginia pepperoni rolls for our groom, and a dance floor that didn’t quit.

Classic, but never stuffy.
Personal, yet still polished.

The kind of night that lingers long after the lights come up.

What Inspires My Design (Hint: Not Pinterest)

Sure, Pinterest is a great tool for organizing inspiration for mood boards. But the real inspiration? It comes from everywhere life actually happens.

From the kitchen.
From art galleries.
From gardens and trailheads and airplane windows.
From the tiny details you only notice when you slow down and pay attention.

I grew up with an artist and art professor mom, spending weekends wandering galleries, learning how color, composition, and negative space make you feel something. That’s still how I approach weddings, design that moves, not just decor that looks good.

I grew up in the garden too, picking what we’d cook that night, learning seasonality without ever calling it that. Later it was culinary classes, wine tastings, understanding balance and palette. Now? It’s why I obsess over guest experience and culinary heritage the way a chef obsesses over a menu: layered, intentional, sensory.

Nature is a constant for me as well, hiking, traveling, noticing the colors that only exist in certain light. Architecture, too. How spaces guide you. How materials hold warmth. How a room can feel timeless without being boring.

These are the things that shape my design lens.
Not trends.
Not templates.
Not whatever is “in” this week.

Just a lifetime of looking closely and designing weddings that feel as intentional, soulful, and sensory as the places that inspire me and about all inspired by YOUR story.

POV: You’re a guest at that wedding—the one everyone’s still talking about.

Where moody meets modern, and the vibe says less “tradition” and more let’s actually have fun.

For J & A, it looked like tiki-inspired cocktails, a Zaffe entrance that brought the house down, and a mochi dessert cart that kept people coming back for seconds and thirds.

Real Housewives–inspired signage, throwback banger beats, and espresso martinis (plural, obviously) sealed the deal.

Proof that when you design from who you are, not what’s expected, magic happens. ⚡️

A bridal look that lives rent free in our heads.
It’s when everything clicks—

Even with a rainy day forecast, H was radiant, relaxed, and with the most joyful energy.

Design isn’t just aesthetics. It’s how you make guests feel like they belong.

For Ellie and Devin, belonging meant weaving heritage, personality, and modern elegance into every touchpoint of their winter wedding.

Food told part of the story. Guests were welcomed with pierogi appetizers honoring her Polish roots, followed by a traditional Scandinavian smörgåsbord served family-style. Long communal tables framed by glowing candlelight and layered textures turned dinner into an intimate, lingering gathering that felt like home, yet elevated.

Storytelling carried through the details. Dala horse table numbers, intricate Polish Wycinanki cutouts on the es**rt display, and menus and signage layered with both Norwegian and Polish phrases. Even the camping mugs, illustrated with their pup Odin, were designed to feel personal.

And then, the party. Nashville came alive with light-up disco cowboy hats, late-night hot chicken sandwiches, and a dance floor that never let up under a canopy of glow sticks and disco balls.

It wasn’t just beautiful. It was deeply personal, soulful, and magnetic. Proof that great design doesn’t just set the scene, it sets the tone for how every guest feels.

It started with an invitation.
Moody tones. Romantic florals. A story waiting to be told.

For A & S, that story unfolded months late, Autoshop’s raw industrial space reimagined with layers of florals and hanging greenery, layouts designed to flow and invite conversation, and a surprise Sangeet filled with choreographed dances from family and friends that brought the house down! An evening that was distinctly them.

Pretty is safe. Unforgettable takes a little risk.

J & P wanted a wedding that felt like a 70’s Palm Springs cocktail lounge meets sultry speakeasy… velvet sofas, disco light bouncing across the dance floor, and just enough edge to feel refined and daring all at once.

Here are 3 design risks that made it magic:

Unconventional palettes — groovy pops of color layered with warm wood and saturated velvets.

Textural installations — a floral canopy studded with disco balls, glittering movement all night.

Bold typography — retro fonts with personality, still legible enough to get you to the bar.

The takeaway? Risk creates resonance. It’s the difference between expected and unforgettable.

Woke up and had the urge to just post a few moments of genuine connection, joy and beauty in this crazy world that speaks to the heart and not the algorithm.

While I get the point of strategic social media and carefully curated posts, sometimes the pressure to always perform and post such targeted posts with the perfect hook and call to action is exhausting, has been stealing my joy of this beautiful and creative industry and at its core not me. Let’s face it, my favorite clients care about actual connection with their people over delicious food surrounded by moments of beauty around them. Things you might not know about me:

I was a devoted horse girl (or still am, as reminded me once a horse girl, always a horse girl). So an evening at , the perfect intersection of hunt country chic and classic Ralph Lauren, felt like stepping into my equine loving dream. Peep the horse bit detail as the curtain tie-back!

An evening spent catching up with industry friends over lobster and Virginia’s finest wines with the kind of conversation that lingers was just what I needed before our busy fall season starts. We ended in the speakeasy, sharing fries dipped in ice cream topped with caviar… an unlikely trio we never knew we needed, but now can’t live without.

This gem is now open to the public and is a perfect choice for room blocks, welcome parties, or rehearsal dinners in Hunt Country for those looking for an experience that combines impeccably appointed interiors with hospitality where no detail goes unattended to!
