Things you might not know about me:

I was a devoted horse girl (or still am, as reminded me once a horse girl, always a horse girl). So an evening at , the perfect intersection of hunt country chic and classic Ralph Lauren, felt like stepping into my equine loving dream. Peep the horse bit detail as the curtain tie-back!

An evening spent catching up with industry friends over lobster and Virginia’s finest wines with the kind of conversation that lingers was just what I needed before our busy fall season starts. We ended in the speakeasy, sharing fries dipped in ice cream topped with caviar… an unlikely trio we never knew we needed, but now can’t live without.

This gem is now open to the public and is a perfect choice for room blocks, welcome parties, or rehearsal dinners in Hunt Country for those looking for an experience that combines impeccably appointed interiors with hospitality where no detail goes unattended to!

3 things couples often overlook that have the biggest impact on elevating the guest experience!

A beautiful wedding is admired. A thoughtful one is remembered.

1. Make the bar seamless
If you’re providing alcohol, make it easy to access.
Add a bartender to cut down wait times and give them the space they need to operate. Tray-passed wine or signature drinks at cocktail hour sets the tone.

2. Plan for the weather
Guests won’t remember the view if they’re overheating or soaked. Have a solid backup plan and use it when needed. Think comfort: chilled towels, sun umbrellas or pashminas, warm drinks.

3. Communicate clearly
Guests want to know what to expect. Before the wedding, share what to wear, where to go, how to get there, where to stay, etc… On the day of, use clear signage, staff and visual cues to help guests feel at ease and know what to expect… bar signs, es**rt cards, menus, etc… aren’t just for pretty touches.

It’s not about excess or doing something just to check a box off. It’s about intention and how it makes your guest feel!

We say “immersive” a lot, but what does that actually MEAN?

Take J & P’s wedding:
A sultry speakeasy meets retro 70s Palm Springs lounge.
It wasn’t just a theme. It was a feeling, woven into every detail.

• Invitations set the tone early - velvet textures, blind-embossed burl wood patterns, paisley flourishes, and fonts with just the right groove.
• Retro cocktails served in vintage glassware - stylish, but never fussy.
• Tables layered with groovy, colorful glassware, 70s acacia-inspired chargers, and lush velvet linens in saturated tones.
• A DJ layered with live saxophone, drums, and a jazz singer serenading guests through dinner - setting the mood without saying a word.
• Overhead, a floating floral “disco” installation - casting soft reflections across the dance floor all night long.
• Lounge vignettes in rich velvets - the kind your grandmother might’ve had, reimagined with a modern lens.

Immersive doesn’t mean overdone or unnecessary.
It means intentional... a full sensory experience where every element has something to say.

When I say we go above and beyond and will do whatever it takes to curate the PERFECT design. I mean it.

We spent hours sourcing the perfect vintage bar lamps for this 70’s, sultry, speakeasy, meets modern vibed wedding and were not finding that lightbulb moment… THE ONE. 💡

Enter a moment of brilliance looking through an old family photo album with my daughter and seeing my grandparent’s lamps from the 60s. Thankfully we still had them and they were in great shape. Sometimes the best design details aren’t sourced - they’re inherited.

They added the perfect touch of retro and were a nice nod to my grandparent’s who loved to entertain in their own basement bar. We always love adding layered stories and a big dash of soul to our designs.

H and J are featured on ! We will never tire of reliving this day. So full of joy and warmth that even torrential rains could not dampen the spirits and party of this crew. 🍾

We were given the assignment of “warm, relaxed, yet refined and romantic” and turned it into a day evoking organic California al fresco dinner party vibes paired with a laid back, whimsical wildflowers and a touch of modern, minimalist sensibilities.

As the sun set and the rain poured down, the tent only glowed more both from the candles and warmth inside.

- Simple yet elegant, fresh, seasonal foods such as jumbo lump crab, braised short ribs, and gnocchi with fresh spring peas along with flowing wine kept guests full and the conversation over dinner flowing.

- A pumping DJ with a special Arabic dance set complete with hip scarves and a jam packed dance floor kept the energy up.

- Surprise canolis from their favorite shop along with boozy milkshakes fueled the crowd to the very end.

This wedding was the epitome of showing that the weather is the one thing you CANNOT control on your wedding day, but you can control how you react. Not letting it ruin your day, but leaning in to it! ✨

How to balance minimalism with warmth…. Clean, minimal design doesn’t have to mean cold and clinical.
It means thoughtful, intentional, and quietly luxurious.
And yes—still wildly inviting. 🍷

• Tone on tone neutrals can act as a base palette with a pop of color to bring it to life.
• A minimalist design is all about TEXTURE. (hello, linen, velvet and ceramic)
• The secret power of flickering candlelight to create movement and shadows.
• How to use negative space intentionally, not accidentally 😏

Because the real magic happens where restraint meets romance.
