This next trip around the sun, I’m looking forward to enjoying my new city and the west coast, wearing more color (shocking I know), getting a few more tattoos, traveling to at least 3 new countries, growing my business and gaining the sort of confidence that only comes from being on this planet this long.

I’m back in San Diego for a hot second! I’m excited to make my at home iced lattes, bother the cats, go on walks and edit my heart out. I love to travel but I also love that the new home I get to come back to is just as amazing as my destinations🫶🏻

ICYMI: I live in California full time now!😎

It’s been officially official for about two weeks at this point and we (me + the cats) are settling into life in San Diego quite nicely. So far I’ve visited three coffee shops, been to the neighborhood brewery twice, tried out one fancy workout class and read half a book out in the sun. Of course I’ve been whipping out my camera for some shoots when I’m not thrifting for fun decor or answering emails!

There are some very exciting things on my calendar for this year — I can’t believe I’m finally closer to all my favorite places AND I can still travel to further away destinations!

Fun fact: Joshua Tree and Palm Springs are areas I never get tired of visiting so they are included in my SoCal photography travel radius. That means no travel fees for locations throughout San Diego, Orange County and out to Palm Springs/Joshua Tree. Soooooo let’s meet out in the desert for a session, elopement or wedding!

Now that my editing list is totally clear (for the first time since may!) and all my people have their galleries, I can FINALLY get around to sharing more of all the epic adventures I got to be a part of!

These two are currently on their honeymoon trip to Norway (and I’m living vicariously through Kelly’s story updates). But back in October, we met up on the side of the road on the oregon coast and found the perfect spot for them to exchange vows and rings amongst the crashing waves and dense fog. A moody pnw elopement dream come true!

There’s a reason so many people choose to elope in this incredible part of the west coast🖤

Remember that one time I traveled all the way to an island off the coast of Belize to shoot a wedding and ended up breaking a rib going down a water slide within the first 24 hours?🙈

Well that week will still go down in history as the best weeks of my life, mostly because of the epic island getaway experience Aytch + Tovah planned for their wedding celebrations!

And if you’ve been curious what the rest of that week looked like, there’s a full blog post with my favorite snaps that just went up! I had a hard time putting into words all the incredible ways this weeklong wedding was so uniquely perfect for A + T. It meant a lot that I was chosen to not only photograph this experience, but be welcomed as part of the small group and enjoy the festivities right alongside everyone. What I would do for some fresh watermelon juice and warm salty air right now!

2. MENTORSHIPS!!!
I am now offering 3 types of one-on-one virtual mentorships to help you kick ass within your business. I take a no BS approach and will give you all I’ve got!
• one 2 hour meeting ($450 for January sessions)
• 3 month mentorship, one 2 hour meeting once a month ($1000 if starting in January)
• 3 hour intensive deep dive meeting for more experienced photographers ($550 for January sessions)

Introductory rates for mentorships are only available for sessions starting in January! Then they will be their regular rate so take advantage now while you’re still in slow season.

Alex + Will’s wedding was everything warm and groovy 💃🏼🪩🕺🏻

I’m never not thinking about being poolside in Positano🍋

There are so many corners of the world I can’t wait to visit for the first time. But Italy and the Amalfi Coast are where I would happily return to, over and over.

I studied abroad in Florence 10(!) years ago and fell in love immediately. During that time, I got to see the colorful cliffside of the Amalfi Coast and knew I would be back. If you had told 21 year old Lauren that her first return visit to this place would be for WORK as a PHOTOGRAPHER she would have told you to shut your face.

SO, who’s meeting me poolside at a villa with an aperol spritz? I have a whole folder of bookmarked vacation rentals that would be perfect🖤

Hi I’m Lauren…your purple haired, tattooed, foul mouthed, coffee loving, traveling wedding photographer💜

I’m often asked questions about how I got into this business since I’m a ~mysterious girl~ so here are some answers to what I get asked most often:
✨I’ve been a wedding and elopement photographer since 2020 but I started photography in 2019 shooting mostly bloggers in nyc
✨I’ve photographed over 100 weddings (the number doesn’t matter but that’s a lot of weddings in under 3 years)
✨yes, this is my full time job
✨no, I don’t take regular days of. I’m designing a life I don’t want to take breaks from but I do believe in treating yourself often
✨I have a degree in hospitality that I am actually using by being in the wedding industry
✨I am self taught and have invested a lot into business education
✨if I wasn’t a photographer, I’d own a coffee truck (hoping to do both!)

Some words for those who are considering an elopement or having a smaller wedding: It can be just as much of an event as a full size “regular” wedding. Your elopement is no less of an occasion just because you’re not inviting 100+ people. There’s nothing wrong with weddings that size but for some, an elopement just makes more sense.

✨Be extra✨ Order 3 dresses. Spend the night in a boujie hotel. Drink the good champagne. Invite family to brunch. Go all out on your dream bouquet. Get a vintage car just for photos.

✨Do the most✨ If that’s who you are. Because why the hell not?

Megan + Brendan are the kind of people you take a red eye flight across the country to shoot their wedding for🤗

The universe really said lemme give you a 75 and sunny end of October wedding day. I’m not complaining! This made it even easier to celebrate these two - all photos outside in perfect lighting with the fall colors poppin plus a sunset ceremony with the best people. Couldn’t have planned it better myself!

I’ve been chatting away with lots of potential 2023 couples lately! I love getting couples on the phone or video to discuss wedding plans before they officially bring me on as their photographer. My reason for this is so I can hear the excitement in their voice, ask questions about their day to see how I can best help them and get to know each other. Plus it takes our relationship off of email and IRL!

It is SO important to get along with the person who’s going to be taking photos of you all day. HOT TAKE but it’s almost more important than what the photos actually end up looking like in some cases! Are lots of photographers capable of showing up and taking high quality wedding photos? Yes. Are they all going to mesh with you, your guests and creative team? Not all of them.

So I encourage you to look beyond the packages, the add ons and the pricing to be sure you’re making a valuable investment in the PERSON behind the camera🖤 if you want it to be me, I’m just an email away and I CANT WAIT to chat with you.
