Are you team sparkler exit?
TBH we have a love/hate relationship with them. First, the love 💕 … they make for spectacular photos and they can be a lot of fun for all participating!
Now the not-so-love😏… Fire and alcohol (including those imbibing) often don’t mix. Nor do inebriated persons tend to follow directions well. 🍺 🎇 🔥 Also, not great for the environment ♻️
With that said, after years of putting them on we’ve learned how to successfully execute great sparkler exits.
🎆
1. Coordinate with your photography team. Let them know before the wedding day that it's something you want to do.
2. Limit the number of sparklers instead of providing for everyone. Lighting more than ~20 sparklers just takes too long to coordinate. Having just your bridal party line up for this is a great option.
3. Have ample space to line up without guests being shoulder to shoulder.
4. Have a sober person or persons, such as your planning team, responsible for handing out the sparklers and lighting the sparklers.
5. Have buckets of sand or water around for guests to put the sparklers in following the exit to make sure their both fully extinguished and properly disposed of.
🎆
Have a fun and be safe!
