What started as a need to supplement income during a medical crisis, has become my creative outlet and every day stress relief. I look forward to helping my customers with some of the happiest occasions which keeps me focused on the good that's in the world in times that are stressful. My shop began in January of 2015. Our oldest son was injured that previous October and his recovery was long and
intensive. We needed extra income but with all the doctor appointments, physical therapy appointments and imaging tests, there just wasn't time to add in a part time job when my husband and I were both already working full time. I had helped my sister in law set up my nieces 1st birthday party and everyone told me that an Etsy shop would be right up my alley. 6 days later, my shop opened with 5 listings. That first month I was open, I made a total of $7. I was feeling discouraged, but I said I would stay at it at least until the first batch of listings expired. Sales started coming in, customers started returning for special requests, and I realized that this shop was here to stay! After our first medical crisis resolved itself (he was able to regain 90% of the use of his arm again after surgery and more physical therapy during a 10 month recovery period!), I kept up the shop to help cover household expenses. Then in January of 2017, one of our twin boys was hospitalized for 5 days with problems with his liver and it was such a great piece of mind knowing that I could work from his bedside at 2am, in the waiting room of doctor appointments after his discharge, and wherever/whenever I needed to. While this has yet to replace my full time job by any means, I look forward every day to interacting with moms, dads, aunts, uncles, and grandparents who call on me to help with their party needs. Thank you for supporting my little shop and the family that means everything to me. Even the smallest orders have a huge impact on my family and my ability to provide for them financially while not having to sacrifice any more time away from them as necessary. If you haven't already done so, please like my page and share with friends and family. If you've placed an order with me and were happy with your finished product, leave me a review! I love feedback and I absolutely love referrals!
