Two beautiful Yallingup weddings this weekend to kick off 2024.

Friday afternoon with Lowana and Joel at Eagle Bay Brewing followed by Alex and Stephen’s black tie epicurean soirée at Sundance Lodge. So honoured to have been part of these glorious celebrations.

One tired but happy little celebrant today 🥰

Last year I quit my job and just focused on this lovely wedding biz and my kids. But earlier this year I got offered a great opportunity to work as a consultant strategic communications advisor. So I’ve been back at work 4 days a week. Which means I’ve been bloody busy! But surprisingly working more has brought more balance. It’s been a lot of fun and very fulfilling. It’s felt good to have the mental challenge, and I’ve loved switching between roles and wearing different hats. It’s meant my husband Aidan has been able to go part time, which has been amazing for the kids and equality between us.

Thanks to all my amazing couples who have trusted me with their wedding ceremonies this year and and my family for the endless support.

My resolution this year is to take more photos! So here’s us this morning on holiday on the east coast ☺️

Happy New Year ✨✨✨✨

“We absolutely loved our marriage ceremony and are just over the moon with how it all went 💕 Many people mentioned to us how much they enjoyed the ceremony - a few even commented that it was the best they had been to and asked if we were friends with Claire (a wonderful compliment).

Claire really got to know us and made us feel so comfortable - it was such a pleasure to work with her. Would absolutely recommend Claire!”

Thank you Maddy and Brendan 💖

What a celebration for Karen and Vincent. So many special elements in their ceremony to celebrate their rich cultural histories. The flooring was lined with the most incredible hand painted flax mats called Tapas. In Tonga these are passed down for generations and traditionally used for births, deaths and marriages. My favourite moment was when their family and friends went wild as they walked back down the aisle together to an Irish jig!

Just loved being part of this moment, thank you for having me

One of the downsides of committing to weddings on the weekend is you sometimes have to miss your own special family and friend’s events. Sending big hugs to SA ❤️

Mr and Mrs Schammer 🤍

On Saturday I had the honour of marrying Emily and Myles. I have to admit that I was a bit under the weather last week. But somehow my body knows when there is just no more time for that 😅 I was a little bit nervous about the heat but in the end we had lots of shade and a breeze, and I can highly recommend free flowing V***e for all your guests! 🥂

Congratulations friends❤️❤️

Jolin and Lachy 🌼

I wouldn’t consider myself overly funny but I’m not too bad at writing a funny story, especially when there’s a very good one to tell!

This ceremony was full of so much laughter and lots of love, it was a joy to be a part of.

Not to mention being surrounded by incredibly stunning florals by Fleur Societé and perfectly captured by We Are All Stardust

Subbing in for the win!

I wasn’t meant to be the lucky one to marry Erica and Dirk this weekend but I stepped in a couple of weeks ago when their celebrant wasn’t able to make it. What an unexpected delight it has been. Such wonderful people who were so open and welcoming to me as their new wingwoman. I’m so pleased I got to share their story and be part of their day. Thanks for having me my friends and congratulations again!! ❤️

*I should add that this is a very rare occasion. It is only in highly unlikely and extenuating circumstances that celebrants would ever not be able to attend a wedding. If it does happen we are fortunate to have fantastic communities of celebrants who support each other when needed. I’m a member of a national group and the amazing local crew 🥰

It’s me, and a fancy pants PA! 💁‍♀️

It’s meant to be the best in the biz, so I upgraded my system this year to a Bose speaker and Sennheiser radio mic (so it can’t pick up anyone’s Bluetooth). Tech things aren’t really my thing, but even I can appreciate a faultless, crisp, powerful audio system 🎤

Stepping out of camel mode.

“Camel mode” was coined by in an article on The Cut she said, “I realize now that I was trying to yank myself out of a phase of life during which my entire sense of self was wrapped up in being a parent. Looking back on that phase and my gradual emergence from it, I’ve started calling it “camel mode”..

“because when you’re caring for young children and giving yourself over to their needs, you are crossing a metaphysical desert of the self, without water, like a camel. “Water” is your sense of personal sovereignty — it lives inside you somewhere (in your … humps), but after you become a parent, it recedes from view and soon from mind.”

She goes on to talk about camel mode not necessarily being a negative thing, but at some point you might feel a pull to figure out “how to re-attune herself to the creative adventure of being a person”.

So thanks to some gentle nudges from my husband, and a well timed celebrant conference, I’m wrapping up a week of “me time” in Ubud.

I joined conference (retreat!) at Michael Franti’s beautiful fancy hotel
With 30+ other marriage celebrants in 4 days of workshops, food, cultural experiences and parties. A feast for the senses! And now some alone time, just reading, yoga and Kirtan at

I want to say that I’m restored to my old self. But it’s been harder than I thought. I have felt slightly awkward and have missed my kids so much more than I imagined. Maybe “old self” is the wrong goal anyway.

For now I’m just happy to feel a bit more relaxed and grateful and ready to do some more emerging 🙏

What a glorious afternoon for Sunday lunch and a wedding! It was such an honour to stand amongst some of Andrew and Steven’s closest family and friends and be part of such a special moment for them. There’s nothing quite like small intimate ceremonies.. everyone laughed and cried. Truly a joyful celebration of their love and life together.

Now on to Sydney and New York to continue the global wedding tour. I’m so glad to have been the one to kick it off with the official bit🎉🥂☀️

Congratulations my friends ✨

I can’t help being in awe of Nick and Sarah and their beautiful family. They live between London, Geneva and Brussels. Nick runs a charity fighting slavery and human trafficking and Sarah works for an organisation campaigning against violent extremism. Their daughters speak a ridiculous number of languages having grown up in the Middle East and different parts of Europe. When we first met on zoom my little Perth bubble felt quite small!

Perhaps with such life experience comes a lot of gratitude and kindness, because it would be hard to come across two such down to earth and humble people.

Adding to the many talents, their eldest daughter studies art and music and sung for everyone during the ceremony. I ended up doing a bit of singing myself as she suddenly forgot some of the words.. step in Elvis fan 😅

I felt so privileged to stay on as the MC. As I had imagined their family and friends were delightful and had lots of interesting tales to tell!

What a magic night to have been a part of ✨✨

It’s been one year already since this beautiful ceremony at in Margaret River. It was an instant vibe just thanks to their guests. They laughed out loud, cheered, called out, and just made it all feel very natural and fun.

Happy anniversary lovely and ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Double duty action shots..

It took me about 100 hours to write my sister’s ceremony 🤪 I was so nervous leading up to the day, just wanting it to be absolutely perfect. And I was nervous about the thought of knowing every single person in the audience! But once we began, the nerves melted away and I remember thinking oh, wait, I’m enjoying myself!! Being surrounded by all of our family, and seeing everyone just so happy and into it was very special and actually just a lot of fun. We had so many relatives fly in from Canada and the UK the excitement levels were extra high!

And I have to say, sometimes you just get lucky with idyllic weather that makes it feel all the more perfect. The “bush chapel” ceremony space at Eight Willows is magical and we didn’t have a breath of wind, it was sunny but not hot so everyone felt comfortable and was really present.

And of course the most important thing of all was Vanessa and Jonny had a great time and got married! 🥂

Thanks for capturing this so beautifully 🥰

a bit about me..

One evening shortly after my husband and I got married we were reliving moments from our wedding day and talking about how wonderful our ceremony was. It had taken us both a bit by surprise. Whilst I always assumed the ceremony would be lovely, I thought it would be more about nerves and formality and all the real magic would be in the reception. But the ceremony turned out to be my favourite part of the day. Nothing can quite describe the feeling and the energy in the room. Our celebrant did the most amazing job of sharing our love story and making the whole ceremony truly personal. It was during this conversation with my husband that I had one of those ‘ah ha’ moments - I want to create that magic for other people! Yes, I should become a marriage celebrant!

And now it feels like something I was always meant to do. Being a marriage celebrant brings together all the things I love and am good at. Everyone tells me my best attribute is my 'people skills' - which I think just means being interested in people and being easy to get along with. I love meeting new people from all walks of life. I consider myself relaxed and friendly but I am also organised and professional. I relish the opportunity to write something meaningful and unique and I secretly love a bit of public speaking. And of course who doesn’t love to get dressed up and go to a wedding.

I still have a day job - I work in corporate communications and I'm also a mum to a beautiful little boy. I'm a marriage celebrant simply for the joy of it - being part of people's wedding day and helping to create something special is a real honour and makes me happy.

Enough about me! I’d love to hear from you.. entrust in me your love story and I promise to create some magic for you to cherish for years to come.
