As summer winds down, I find myself feeling a bit sad. The afternoon cicada song will soon wane, as the fireflies already have....the green summer foliage is beginning to tinge yellow in some places... the night time temperatures are cooling. The change of seasons is of course a beautiful thing, and truly a treasure of the midwest. Yet, I always struggle to let go of summer.
