Time to start posting my progress for my Award Winning Goblin King Cosplay... he had crystal hair!

This "wig" was made out of craft foam, wire, batting, polyfil, paint, and cellophane...

After making a "wig cap" out of craft foam matching the hairline i wanted, and leaving room for elf ears, I made a wire cage frame. I stiched it down then stiched on batting. Afterwards I cut up craft foam for the "hairs" along the edges, and made my braid. The braid is made of tubes of craft foam i painted and covered in cellophane then braided together.

Each hair spike had 6 steps to make... I had to form them, stuff them, seal and paint, then wrap on cellophane and add glitter

The antlers i purchased then painted and made a crown out of grapevine wire, flowers and crystals

This was my first time making a foam wig... it was very intimidating for me but oh so much fun!

BEHOLD my new hidden snack container!! Bwahaha!!!

Saw the movie today and really enjoyed it. Having hiked to Edoras only 3 weeks ago it was nostalgic to see it again on the big screen. They did a great job being true to the locations and surrounding mountains n streams... I missed seeing Middle Earth on the big screen... it's always like seeing a home video of loved ones... the music was wonderful as always... sigh... I need the soundtrack now...

Something soothing about organizing and labeling all my sewing notions... Convention season for me is Jan- Oct ... this year was rough so I'm doing some badly needed cleaning and organizing before the chaos starts again :) my friends tease that organizing my craft stuff makes me look like a craft supply hoarding dragon... however they don't complain if they need to borrow or use something..lol!! Show n tell your coolest craft supply organization 😎

I had a great day today! I got to volunteer with a really cool program called Destination Imagination. They had a skills workshop in Austin today. I got to teach intro to FX & Theater Makeup to over 100 students spread out over 4 classes. Because it was a program with kids from about 8yrs old through High School this is the only picture you get. I was so excited to do this and I had such a fun time. Plus I get to call myself Professor Squeaker now, right?? It was at the University of Texas Art department and I got to run an art classroom... yup Professor Squeaker!!

Ding d**g the Dwarf is gone.... My first OC Dwarf is being retired... I created it in Jan 2021 within 2 weeks, I made the shield and axes a couple months later... then ENTIRELY repainted it and improved the foam clay on the shield... I wore her 5x I think? Always a ton of fun and I loved sharing the love of little scene characters.... don't worry she was just my first Dwarf I have a few others in the design phase... just gotta make up my mind... I can't wait to share my next Dwarven creation with all of you...

She will be scavenger for parts, she was my first female foam armor, first foam clay project... She taught me a lot...

Hi everyone Happy Spooky Season!! It's been both quiet and busy here lately. I've been on a creating break since the Dragoncon con crunch... but it's time to start getting some small projects done. I'm adding a chain stich embroidery edge to my mushroom skirt for more texture and detail. I love using these hands free lights so I can stich even in the dark. I've decided to slowly add to this mushroom costume as I feel like it... I'm kind of excited to see how she changes and grows over the next year or more.... what are you working on for Halloween?

How have I not posted this already!? I got to get my picture taken with 3 of the most amazing people and Hobbits. I was 3rd in line for photos and the second they walked in for photos 2 of the 3's jaws dropped and grinned at me! Once it was my, turn for a photo they all complimented me and my cosplay and started asking how I made the headpiece. Then the photo ops people got annoyed with us talking too long and all 4 of us said "sorry" at the same time and all starting giggling and saying our goodbyes....

it was a dream come true to meet them and a Bucket List Item I never knew I had that got crossed off ... getting in trouble with Hobbits!!! 😅🤪

Went to the Costuming Exhibit yesterday .. it's an amazing thing to see your friends have all their hard work on display ❤️ Event better watching others love it!! When you question why your allowed in.... (you know who you are )

And meeting amazing new people and finding out they have amazing things in the Exhibit too! I love this Dragoncon family, and family of makers..

Well it's the day after... Page2Stage was a lot of fun, I talked to so many people and learned a bunch of new things about cosplay. I got to meet the amazing Author who wrote the books that my character was from .r.perry She was so very sweet, I made her a matching crown and she wore it the show... oh and did I forget to mention I won 3rd place in the Championship Invitational Division!!! Thank you to the Judges, coordinators and mostly to my amazing handler he made me feel safe, hydrated and pumped me up to get onstage... I really appreciate it... and finally to my hubby n kids... thank you fir always supporting me in this crazy fantasy world of mine... love you guys!!
