A moment for the most stunning backdrop for this stunning couple!

This wedding holds an extra special place in my heart. Parisa is the sister of one of my past brides who I also adore. When she came to me and and said that we were the non-negotiables for her wedding, let me tell ya, that was the absolute best compliment. 🥹 We got to travel to beautiful Asheville to be a part of Parisa and Colton’s big day. And to make it even more special for us at HKE, it was also our first floral booking (booked 2 weeks out from the wedding day when their florist left them hanging, and out of state too 🤪). We are so lucky to have clients who put 100% of their trust in us, and we do not take a single second of this opportunity for granted.

We’re ready to go back to Asheville now, can someone else please get married in the Blue Ridge Mountains?

You’ve chosen your wedding party, but what about your very best friend— your fur baby? If you want your dog to be a part of your special day, SAY LESS! In Colorado and Florida (specific to counties), you can even have your fur baby sign your marriage license as your witness. A couple of years ago, I would’ve advised against having your pup at your wedding because of the logistics that go into it, but there are now some amazing companies that make it a breeze to have your baby there. They will transport your pup to and from home, make sure they are all spruced up in their best wedding attire, be there to handle them during the ceremony and photos, and then tuck them into their own bed that night with lots of snuggles! You don’t have to worry about a thing!

This week marks the 6th anniversary of Hannah Kathryn Events. Looking back on the last 6 years brings many emotions, gratitude & hope being the biggest of them all. I am so grateful for the highs and the lows, because through them all I have learned and grown. In 2022, I had a year of complete burnout due to committing to an opportunity that wasn’t a good fit for me, my business mission, and values. I took 2023 to slowly find my love and passion for weddings again, and I did. By traveling and seeing some of the most beautiful places, and spending more time with the people I love, I found inspiration and my passion to serve others. Specifically, I found so much inspiration in the beautiful ancient gardens all over Italy, which inspired me to jump head-first in floral education! Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge and experience with Emily & I!

I am so excited to announce that today marks the beginning of a new adventure for Hannah Kathryn Events! We are officially offering floral design! We can’t wait to fill events and homes with life & joy. We will be offering floral design for weddings and events, as well as everyday occasions and styling for photo shoots.

The highs we feel while watching our wonderful clients tear up the dance floor with no care in the world after a perfect and seamless day, mixed with the pure joy that the creativity of flowers bring us, we know 2024 will be the most exciting and fulfilling year for HKE!

We still specialize in Wedding Management (aka Month Of Coordination), but will be able to bring a little more fun and creativity to the table with this new venture! We hope y’all are as excited as we are!

Some of our favorite details & moments from Kristin + Evan’s big day! This day was filled with so much intention, love, and pure joy. A few little personal touches we LOVED:

- A mug wall filled with mugs that K+E thrifted and collected since their engagement, for their guests to take home. Each had character and history to it. A little tradition that K+E have had since they started dating is taking “mugshots” of each other with their coffee, so of course they had their photographer get “mugshots” of their guests with their new (to them) mugs!

- We got to know Kristin’s parents during the planning process, and it was obvious that they are very intentional with the love and support shared within their family. It was so fun to see that same intention and love shine through with the gifts that Kristin gave to her parents. How sweet is the tie that she surprised her dad with? You bet there were some tears!

- When we were brainstorming a cute getaway car for K+E, they brought up that they owned a cute little red scooter. Immediately, YES. How stinking cute was the scooter as a getaway vehicle? Her dad decked it out with a “Just Married” sign and strung cat food cans to the back as an ode to K+E’s two cats that they adore.

The list goes on, but let’s just say…making your day truly and 100% yours is so so worth it. Trends are great, and there are obviously reasons for them, but personality outshines any trend.

Y’all…we were so blessed with so many amazing couples this year, and it truly makes us so grateful that we get to be a part of so many beautiful days and moments. Thank you to all of our clients who trusted us with your vision and sanity this year. And thank you to all of our friendors that we are so lucky to work beside each weekend! Thank you, thank you, thank you for a beautiful, fun, whirlwind of a year!

Let’s talk getaway cars! Often, this detail is overlooked until the last minute but so important. You had the night of your life and your guests are sending you off, but what vehicle will you be hopping in?! You can hire a sleek car service, rent a vintage car like a Rolls-Royce, leave in a decorated golf cart, or even beep-beep away on your adorable moped like K&E! Whatever you pick, HKE will make sure to have your getaway vehicle all loaded up with your personal belongings and some extra treats and late night snacks! ☺️

Details photos are my absolute favorite! If you love them as much as me, read the wedding tip below.

While prepping the final details for your big day, make sure to gather any special items that you would like photos of. You worked hard to select your stationary, pick out your rings and wedding day jewelry, and plan your wedding florals, so you HAVE to get some photos of them! If you have everything gathered together in one box or bag, then your photographer can get right to work capturing your details when they arrive.

Items to gather:
- Wedding rings
- Wedding day jewelry
- All stationary
- Family heirlooms
- Perfume & Cologne
- Toe/bowtie
- Wedding day shoes
- Vow books

And try to have your florist deliver all personal florals early so that they can include these in your details photos!

Tip of the day: don’t plan your wedding day around photo ops. Plan your special day around the moments that bring you joy, and be completely present in every second of your day. Hire a photographer who will capture these moments, raw emotions, and exuberant joy, rather than only timing your wedding day timeline around the pictures. I am all about reducing the amount of formal photos, and instead letting your photographer get creative and document you thoroughly enjoying the best day of your life!

11.19.22 🤍 Madi & Andrew’s wedding day was filled with so much joy, beauty, dancing, and tons of rain. Rain couldn’t put a damper on their celebration though! Happy national margarita day! Margaritas may or may not be our love language ☺️

We love the idea of offering a couple of signature cocktails for your guests at your reception, rather than opting for a full bar, and margaritas are a great option that everyone is going to love! You can have some fun with unique flavors such as my personal favorite, a spicy cucumber margarita. So refreshing with a little kick! Make it personal and unique to showcase your personality or favorites as a couple!

Here are a few general advantages to offering a couple signature drinks (along with beer & wine) at your wedding.

1) Your bar company wastes less space and product since they will only have to bring the ingredients for a couple different of drinks rather than a large variety of drinks and mixers.

2) It gives you another outlet to add some personal touches to your big day. Are you someone who loves botanical and herbal drinks? Offering a lemon rosemary gin fizz showcases your personality a lot more than a gin and tonic would. Do you want to add a little taste of Colorado to your bar? You can offer a Rocky Mountain mule made with Breckenridge Whiskey. What are your favorite drinks as a couple? Let your guests see why you love those drinks so much!

3) It streamlines the cocktail making process for your bartenders which means they can keep guests happy with little to no wait at the bar!

Hannah Kathryn Events has some exciting news to ring in 2023! 🤍

Not only do we have a fresh and new website, but I’m so stinking excited to officially bring on my sweet sis as our new lead planner! HKE is now a sister team, and we are so excited to bring the Miller sister fun to our couples to help them create unique and memorable events!

While trying to manage my business in opposite sides of the US, I was struggling to find someone to represent my business with the same personality and professionalism that I value so highly as the face of my business. I soon started to try and convince my sister who is pretty much a younger (and much taller) version of me working in the healthcare industry to come try her hand in the wedding industry. I finally convinced her to come out to a wedding as my assistant, and she was a natural! From then on, she was hooked and began training with me right away. I finally found a clone of me with the same passion for weddings to represent my business in Colorado while I represented in Florida, a business owner’s dream! Emily is the one person I can trust to give our couples the same exceptional client experience as I would give as a business owner, forming genuine relationships with them where she will feel like a friend through it all. Emily will be handling the majority of our Colorado weddings (with the exception of my annual couple month work visit to Colorado because I can’t stay away), and I will be handling all of our Florida weddings!
