Behind the Lens.
Hello! My name is Tristen Groff and I am a freelance photographer and videographer based out of Minnesota. I just wanted to take some time to introduce myself, and tell you a little bit about what drives me.
I was born and raised in a small town called Cottonwood, and I'm very proud of my southwestern Minnesota roots. After all, "It's Never Far to Cottonwood." A few of my favorite hobbies (outside of photography and videography) include religiously following Minnesota sports teams, spending time with family, collecting vinyl records, and traveling! I spend most of my free time (and money) attending different sporting events or traveling whenever I can. I love being able to go out to see and experience new things, as well as bringing my camera along and trying to capture that "perfect" picture or feeling.
Taking photos and creating films has always been a passion of mine. I believe that it started from when I was just a baby and my dad would follow me around the house with his huge VHS recorder, I don't think there was a second of my childhood that wasn't recorded! But, as the years went on I slowly shifted from being in front of the camera, to wanting to be behind it. Anytime you can turn your passion into your job, is truly something special. The saying goes, "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life" and that definitely holds true to me.
