We've got some big news today, so we hope you'll join us in celebrating our new owner, Melanie Richardson!

After 19 years as founder & owner, Jessica Moore has decided to step back to a senior planner & designer for an event or two a year, and hand the reins to her legacy over. Melanie has been part of the team since 2016 and is excited to continue making Something to Celebrate the best event planning team around. Her attention to detail, friendly & calming personality, and abundance of patience have served her well over the past 23 years in the event industry, and we look forward to all that is in store for the team!

Morgan had a very specific floral vision, and we spent many hours working out the little details, but mother nature had other plans. We often get caught using industry terms, things like GOBO, festoon lights, detail shots, flat lays, MOB, MOH, etc.. We don't even question using the terms but we know sometimes you might not have any clue what we are talking about! So lets take this moment and introduce you to one of our favorites, the flat lay!The flat lay is a mix of your invitations, florals, shoes, rings, jewelry, perfume, garter, cufflinks, family heirlooms, anything that gives a visual story of your wedding day. Not only does it capture those details, but we just love how beautiful the photos are. When working on your wedding timeline we have to allocate time for these, and you might think they aren't worth it if you don't know what they are. After learning more and seeing some beautiful flat lays, we know you agree its worth it now!!

In January we had the pleasure of designing and planning the Ma Maison Winter Soiree with one of our best planner friends Jennifer with Altar Ego Weddings. It took us only 2.5 weeks to plan it but about 2.5 months to write the blog, but its finally done! We woke up to the sneak peeks from Jenna & Matt's beautiful wedding last night and couldn't wait to share at least one.
