It will never get old. What a joy to share this space (and these sunsets) with so many amazing couples. It still feels like a dream come true.

Six years ago, we borrowed my parents’ folding chairs and had our first wedding ever at The Brim- a sweet, intentional wedding for a couple who chose marriage over postponing in the unknowns of COVID. 1,279 couples have said “I Do” at our space since then! 😮🥳 If you would have told me that six years later, we would have a chapel, a reception space, 18 of the best staff members, quit our full time jobs, had three more babies, and had thousands of couples tie the knot at our space, I probably would have either laughed or passed out from joy- or both. Wow. There truly aren’t words. Cheers to six years, 1,279 couples, and thousands more to come!

Today we found out we’re FINALISTS for Kansas City Magazine 's Best Wedding Venue in Kansas City 🥳- and it’s 100% because of these amazing women, a few who couldn’t make it to our monthly hangout, and our two incredible guys. I am absolutely floored that I get to serve couples alongside these ladies. They make me laugh, cheer me on, hold my newborn, and inspire me to be better each and every day. If you’ve had the pleasure of having them present on your wedding day, you know how selfless, kind, and poised they are. The Brim wouldn’t be what it is without them. Sometimes love is shown in the silent and simple ways. ❤️ Bathing our two daughters while I snuggle our newest son on the couch. Leaving an iced coffee for me on the counter when he heads to The Brim. Sending our team pictures of me in the green room before our TV appearance (maternity jeans and all). Texting me to book a deep tissue massage for when I get off of the plane- while he takes the baby for a walk. The thoughtful little things that (almost 13 years of marriage, four babies here, one in heaven, a business, job changes, new home, and three buildings later) still make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. It’s true what they say- marry the person who will be with you in suffering and in the joyful moments, and everything in between. Who sees you at your worst and still chooses you every day. 💕

A white chapel on a hill, stunning sunsets, free ceremonies, and a desire to make marriage matter that guides every inch of our business. Had the awesome privilege of being live on the 4pm Broadcast for yesterday! My mom was able to catch a quick video while holding our one month old, and it’s pretty wild to see yourself on your own TV! 🤣 We were able to share some of our favorite love stories and a little more about the free ceremonies we offer during the week! When you love what you do, it’s easy to talk about it- we had so much fun! ❤️

Put our newest staff member to work at his first tour today! 💙 He slept through it, but we’ll overlook that because he’s pretty dang cute for 9 days old. 😆 Wild to think that the last time we had a Brim Baby we didn’t have the reception space yet! Our hearts are filled to the brim.

We are thrilled to share that we welcomed our sweet Brim Baby, Bennett Lee, on Sunday morning at 11:07 am! 😍 A piece of me thought someone was still missing for the last few years, and now I am overwhelmed with joy to see our family complete (two boys and two girls)! 💙🩷🩷💙 Our Brim team is of course taking excellent care of our weddings as normal. Our usual speedy response time to phone calls and emails may be a bit delayed as we adjust to life as small business owners with FOUR kiddos 🙈🥰. Emails are generally quickest, as we have a couple of wonderful ladies who help monitor and answer those and anything booked couples need via the portal. Thank you for your patience and love as we adjust to our new normal. He’s here!! ❤️

A couple of months ago, one of our very sweet staff members got married at The Brim and we had the pleasure of attending as guests. These photos by show we had absolutely no fun. 🙈😆 Since then, we’ve been navigating a lot. Three kiddos + a business is always a lot, but throw in being 39 weeks pregnant and also losing a parent and WOW. But last night, we snuck away for a spontaneous date night (may be our last before baby boy). And gosh I am reminded how much I love and respect this man. How proud I am of him, and how grateful I am for the ways he chases after dreams and people with passion and grace. He is kind, funny, and puts up with my crazy- still choosing me on my worst days (and it feels like those are frequent lately). The next week and beyond are truly unknown, a lot of planning and waiting and having hope, balancing a lot of emotions - but I’m ready to face whatever is ahead with him by my side. I hope you find that kind of love too- it’s hard work at times, but so worth it. ❤️ Let’s go have us a Brim Baby!!!

Stepping out of 2025 and reflecting on all this wild year has brought us: joy and surprises, grief and gratefulness. The 285 weddings we did in 2024 seemed like a lot, until we finished this year serving 381 (!!!) incredible couples. We added our first full time employee, and I finally got some help answering emails and keeping backend workflows flowing from some amazing ladies on our team. We built a new storage shed, added a chapel front door stop (🙌🏼), and subtly improved many of our processes to help couples and staff. We held Veraison Marriage Workshops and Brix Speed Dating events- and know of Brim Babies born as a result! In May, we learned we’d be welcoming our own fourth and final Brim Baby- a boy due 1/16/26. 💙 Aaron went viral as the Wedding Wizard on TikTok, bringing us another round of news stories and interviews about our free ceremonies. And this fall, our fabulous staff carried the team through busy season when Aaron’s dad was thrown into a hard fought battle with stage four cancer for three months. In early December, we said goodbye to him sooner than expected- so we’ve been navigating the holidays and upcoming birth of our son with the duality of joy and grief. Losing a parent is a new kind of pain and we certainly have a new appreciation for the things we often take for granted- along with gratefulness for those who stepped in to keep business moving as usual, because weddings don’t wait! We love serving couples and helping them invest in marriage is something we hope to do for a very long time. 2026 couples, you’re up- all 240 of you (so far). Still absolutely floored we get to do this! ❤️ Happy New Year to all!

We are excited to fire back up our BRIX Speed Dating events. BRIX took on a life of its own, and it has been so fun to host. Connections have been formed, rings have been given, and babies have been born. How cool is that? The next one is tomorrow night, and for the first time ever, thanks to Aaron and his pursuit of men, male tickets have sold out before the female tickets. It is going to be a full and fun event.
