Friday Night we hosted our First Veraison Marriage Workshop of 2025! 🥰 Sixteen couples joined us to invest in their marriages and learn from the always talented and engaging speaker . These workshops are free with a refundable deposit to save each couple’s space- because (just like with our free weddings) we truly believe that there shouldn’t be any barrier to strengthening your marriage together. ❤️ Special thanks to our amazing vendor friends and for the amazing food.

Walking out of 2024 with such a grateful and full heart. ❤️ This was the year we got to help 285 (!!!) wonderful couples say “I Do” at our space. Stopped working in every room of our house and bought a new one with a dedicated office space. 👏🏽 Paid off the reception space and hosted 114 full receptions in it. Started Brix Speed Dating (and had at least one confirmed couple that’s been dating ever since 🥳). Won the Best Micro-Event Space at the Couple’s Choice Awards. Grew our Brim Staff to 20 and found such life in group chats with co-workers that I’m not married to. 🙈 Coordinated 92 😮 events with our incredible, compassionate, above and beyond team. Paid for someone else to clean my house for the first time ever. Hosted 78 cake and toasts for those wanting an affordable reception option. Slung holiday drinks for friends, neighbors, and past couples at Snowed In. Won Best Wedding Venue in Kansas City (back to back😍). Put an away message up for Mondays and truly took a “day off” most weeks. Held two Veraison Workshops for 40 couples who chose to invest in their marriage with us. Opened doors and fluffed dresses for 66 free ceremonies. Absolutely cannot believe we get to do this for people. 😭 What a gift- what a year. Happy New Year to all. 2025 Couples: we are SO excited and honored to celebrate you THIS YEAR!!

Eleven and a half years in and we are still figuring out this marriage thing (and we’re having a lot of fun doing it 😉)! We’ve learned SO much along our Brim journey, but one thing has specifically come to mind lately: marriage matters, and investing in it is a lifelong process. FINALIST for Venue of the Year in .kansascity ‘s Wedding Vendor Choice Awards! 🥹❤️💕 What an absolute honor to hear our name as one of the top finalists out of so many incredible venues in KC! 🙈 We know what we do at The Brim is different: offering free ceremonies and all kinds of affordable options for deserving and wonderful couples in Kansas City. We know it may look a little different than what you may see at other venues on wedding day- but MAN are we proud to do it alongside some truly talented and kind-hearted vendors for hundreds and hundreds of weddings. Thank YOU for showing us love and encouragement in this way by thinking of us. Thank YOU for seeing our hearts and cheering us on as we seek to make marriage matter and help couples stay out of debt. Thankful doesn’t really even begin to describe it. 🥹 For my rock star husband. For these three precious babies and the one we hold in our hearts. For this space, the views, the chapel. For an incredible, selfless, servant-minded team who constantly goes above and beyond and inspires me daily. For healthy bodies and minds, and for the chance to see a dream become reality- and do our absolute best to bless others with what we’ve been given. For the couples who choose to celebrate their start to forever with us. And for the privilege to be a part of the Kansas City Wedding Community. Yesterday we were nominated for four awards by our wedding vendor peers, and I know of no higher honor. What a joy to love couples alongside you all. Thank you, thank you. Thankful truly doesn’t begin to describe it. ❤️

Pretty fun night last night when our beautiful (free!) chapel on the hill won Best Micro-Event Space at the Couple’s Choice Awards! 🥳 ⛪️ We are so grateful for our amazing team who makes serving 280+ weddings in a year possible. This award recognizes our intimate ceremonies and cake and toasts specifically, and we are truly so honored. 🥹 (And yes, there are options to use our chapel for free during the week. There’s a couple doing so as I type this!) Thank you so much!!

September: 34 Weddings. 19 amazing staff members. One husband going Tik Tok viral as the . Two very tired and grateful parents/business owners. This right here is my literal dream come true. 😍😭 A TEAM of beautiful, intelligent, kind, down to earth, confident, and compassionate women who work diligently at the space we own (never gonna be over that) 🥹❤️. Dreams were coming true on so many levels as we gathered together for margs and laughs and snacks in our brand new home, swapping “how I joined the team” stories and goals and dreams- including a team lock in (which may or may not include scooters). 🤣 I laughed so hard I cried, but I can’t quite put into words the way my heart exploded last night. These ladies (plus a few more- and also our incredible guys), they are the ones who make the magic, who calm the stress, wipe the tears, hold the veils and put out the (non-literal) fires. I promise you, you will feel it at our space. The Brim simply would not be possible without each one of them and their unique skills and personalities. They deserve more shout outs than they’ll ever allow because they are as humble as they are hustlers and helpers. We, as a team, are beyond thrilled to serve you and go above and beyond on your big day- because you, and your marriage- they matter. 💕

Every scuff has a story. Every shoe a wearer, every person who walks this aisle- a passion and a purpose. ❤️ Every wedding different and uniquely beautiful, just like the people who fill these seats. Who carry flowers and small children, joy and excitement, maybe a tissue to balance feelings of simultaneous grief. Each week, Aaron and I have a day kid-free that we spend working at The Brim. Sometimes it includes Zoom meetings and Power Hours, almost always a tour, some linen sorting, and toilet scrubbing. And yesterday, it included mowing and cleaning shoe scuffs down the aisle. Which led me to this reflection. Do I sometimes wish the scuff heavy rental dress shoes would go away? Do some of the weekly upkeep tasks get monotonous? Sure. But really, isn’t this what it’s all about? Giving our all always, loving and serving our couples and their guests, being so grateful to see our space loved and used by so many. A literal dream come true, with every step that echoes down this aisle. Aaron and I have always sought to use our marriage to serve others, and yesterday it looked like this. 💕

BEST WEDDING VENUE IN KC (BACK TO BACK)!!! 🥳😍💕🙈🥰 Thrilled, honored, proud, humbled- the list goes on and on. To start with a field and some poles (just babies ourselves, wrangling our own babies) and to make it to where we are: serving 270 couples this year alone and approaching our 1,000th wedding since 2020. I could cry. 😭 An incredible dream come true with commitment and the faithful support of so many. What a blessing. There are some really hard days and some really amazing ones, but through it all we are so proud of our team and the way they march alongside us to help make marriage matter in our community and to give our all for these couples and their big day. We are so grateful for all of the couples who have chosen us to start forever with. Free ceremonies, cake and toasts, and full receptions- we’re here for each of you and we have something for all of you with our free chapel on a hill! Thank you so much, Kansas City!! ❤️

A chapel on a hill with spectacular views and breathtaking sunset. A reception space across the way with the same, just the right size. ❤️ An unbelievable story, free (yes, free) weekday ceremonies, and a package for everyone’s needs. Does it get any better? Thirty three June weddings, preparing to move, three kids, two trips, and a baseball season later- yes, we are alive! 🤣❤️ It’s been a little more quiet around here for the last month- but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been busy. In the midst of the full season we’re in, I hope I never, ever stop being amazed at the beauty of this space and what people start here together- a new chapter, forever and ever. We are so grateful. 😍

Today’s our favorite day: June 15th: our wedding anniversary, and the day we opened both the chapel and the reception space. ❤️ I guess that makes it the chapel’s third birthday and the reception space’s first birthday!! Wild to think it’s only been a year since we said goodbye to our portapotties and tent receptions. 🥳 It’s been eleven years since our own first dance in our church’s “ministry center” aka nice version of a gym- but I never would have dreamed we’d be where we are today. So grateful!
