Damn. Saddened to hear Hip Hop lost another one 😔
His Boxcar Sessions album might be a sneaky rap top 10 for me. It doesn’t sound like anything else except rugged Oakland and he didn’t sound like anybody I had ever heard before. Deep monotone. Unorthodox cadence. Lyrics took unexpected detours. Intelligent, artful, street rap from the golden era. Left Coast af.
Back them “underground” hip hop was kinduv a secret language and Saafir the Saucee Nomad was always spoken of with reverence 🙏🏽
