Summer is here, and that means it's time to host perfect summer parties! But, living in Australia can pose a few unique challenges.

That's why we have collected a few of our favorite and most note-worthy tips on how to host the perfect summer party right here in Australia.

Here are our top tips:

1. Make provision for the heat. We all know that temperatures can sometimes become a little unbearable in summer. When you host a summer party, especially if it's outside, be sure to provide shade and even a pool if it's the type of gathering that can accommodate swimming.

2. Serve the right kinds of food. In hot weather conditions, certain foods like fish and egg, can go off quickly. Heavy, cooked, and hot meals will also likely be too hot and heavy on a sweltering day. Consider serving fresh fruit, fruit salad, carrots, and celery with dips and salads for a fresh and light spread.

3. Be sure to provide enough to drink. Whether you and your guests drink alcohol or not, ensure that there are enough non-alcoholic beverages available for everyone, too. Water, in particular, is essential on a hot day.

4. Always remember the ice. Ice is an essential and yet often forgotten element of summer parties. Not only will your guests need it in their drinks, but you will need it to keep the drinks cool, too. Be sure to get a few bags of ice to keep everyone cool enough on a hot, Australian day.

5. Keep pests away. Keep uninvited guests away from your party by burning citronella candles. Provide mosquito spray or cream and consider having a net around the party area if it is a real problem.
