Ok so while we have all been hunkering down, preparing and waiting for Cyclone Gabrielle to hit us, I have been in my happy place (in front of my sewing machine) completely hyper focused on creating Steampunk costumes for a customer. I started by making this Victorian style skirt complete with a bustle. I didn’t have to buy a thing to conjure this - I already had everything including the pattern and all the fabric in my vast fabric stash 😂
Next I will make a bolero jacket and a leather waist cincher. Then I will sort out a male costume.
My son is helping me fashion old Nerf guns into steampunk blasters. It’s been fun!
Anyway, to all the family and friends out there, stay safe and dry. And let’s hope this weather not going up be as bad as expected 💕
