Planning to elope in NYC from the UK? Here’s your stress-free checklist:

1. Book your marriage license early.
Appointments at the City Clerk’s office fill up quickly. It costs $35 and you must wait 24 hours before your ceremony.

2. Know the City Hall rules.
You’re allowed only 4 guests total and that includes your witness and photographer.

3. Choose your NYC vibe.
City Hall is quick and official (seriously, your ceremony will take like 3 minutes), but couples often love Central Park, rooftop views, or Brooklyn Bridge for a more iconic feel.

4. Budget smartly.
Most couples spend around $2 – 3k for planning, photos, and florals. That’s all you really need for a beautiful elopement in NYC.

5. Make it legal in the UK.
Your NYC marriage certificate must be apostilled to be recognized back home. It’s an extra step, but we’ll guide you through it.
