Local friends!
There are lots of ways to join in helping our friends in western NC. Samaritan's purse is in route with supplies and are looking for volunteer teams to go help with damages. They will be needing a lot of volunteers! https://www.samaritanspurse.org/article/pray-for-those-in-helenes-path/
There are local pilots who are taking supplies via air. You can drop them off at Statesville Airport Hangar 3 (supplies listed in photo)
JAARS is also making flights out and is looking for donations (see photo)

To me, a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug.
