Partying for a Purpose was started in 1997 in San Diego, California when Angela Brannon held the first Toy Drive in the San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. Raising tens of thousands of dollars and thousands of toys for needy kids, Partying for a Purpose events soon became the most popular charity events in San Diego. : 👯♀️So 20 years ago, and a couple days, on 3/15/2004, I received one of the most important emails of my entire life. I had been to the Pl***oy Mansion a few days before with Derrick Wade where I pitched my idea for a fundraiser to John, Guy Dickhudt, Bill Farley and Hank Fawcett. I still have all the messages after all these years. This is the email from John Luther at the Pl***oy Mansion. It read:
Angela,
Your event has been approved for Saturday August 14th. Thank you for the thorough proposal.
This should be an exciting and fun event. The Mansion staff looks forward to working with you on this event.

😍After reading it, I screamed and read it to Star Thompson who was at my apartment, who joined me in screaming. It led to 9 parties in 8 years and some of the most amazing memories of a lifetime and friendships that I will have forever.

Fantastic Holiday Distribution for over 300 families, and 1000 kids! It's All About the Kids Foundation joined the Chicano Federation of San Diego County to give out toys, diapers, food..and love! More thank yous and pictures coming! 📷 Rosa Sanchez and Santa Nicholas Deseno !!

Barrett-Jackson Car Show Vegas September 2011
At the Las Vegas Barrett-Jackson Car Show and Auction, Bill Gannon talked about the donated car and signed poster [held by Angela Brannon and Michele Gannon] for the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. The car was auctioned for $215,000 and the poster went for $10,000. AWESOME!

Taking Care of Business Awards – November 18, 2010 Partying for a Purpose, Side Bar and It’s All About the Kids Presented Taking Care of Business Awards on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Side Bar in San Diego We honored: * Side Bar * Coca-Cola * Any Budget Printing * Big Tuna Interactive * Alexander Salazar Fine Art * Streamlight Video * With a special Taking Care of Business Award to Co-Founder and President of the Board Shawn Heyl Guests enjoyed complimentary Svedka vodka cocktails, Pizza from Ciro’s, Sushi from Domo Sushi Bar & Grill and desserts from Fleming’s La Jolla. There was also a silent auction ! The night was filled with fabulous house music from DJ IDeaL and featured the breathtaking Brass Pole Entertainment. Other sponsors include Moments of Your Life Photography, Instant Karma Photos and V Group. V Group also donated blank boards that were given to the teens of the Toussaint Academy who painted works of art for each honoree. He is the brother of Executive Director/Co-Founder Angela Brannon and during her career when she would accomplish large goals for the charity, Scott would send her a Certificate of Appreciation for “Taking Care of Business”. Other winners include Taste & Thirst, Ciro’s, Nicky Rotten’s, NStyle Limousine, Torrey Pines Bank, Sysco Foods, Real Deal Furniture and the Legendary Mr. Hugh Hefner.
