The Yass Music Club was established in 1953 by a group of enthusiasts of good music to provide a series of concerts for the people of the Yass community. Holmes AM was Musical Director from the club's inception until his death in June, 2008. Dr Holmes had established a close working relationship with many of Australia's best musicians including David Pereia, Alice Giles, Gerard Willems, Roger Wood
ward, Yvonne Kenny, Evgeny Ukhanov and numerous other fine artists and performers.Thus, the quality of the Yass Music Club's presentations has always been assured and continues undiminished. The Yass Music Club was incorporated in 2015 and is a member of The Federated Music Clubs of Australia. Our subscription series is normally five concerts each year. Four are Saturday evening concerts at 7.45pm , then in winter a Sunday concert at 2pm. Additional non- subscription concerts are presented at The Crisp Galleries on the outskirts of Yass township. A wide variety of music is performed and includes choral groups and various soloists with a wide range of instruments , as well as opera, jazz and concert bands.
