From nuptials to returning friends of the bridal couple, from baptisms to family holidays enjoying local outdoor events, to celebrating major anniversaries and birthdays, Calderwood Hall Guest House is your country home, welcoming you back, time and again, to make precious memories. s chapel can seat 150 guests. It is multidenominational and we welcome weddings from all cultural groups. For those who’ve always dreamed of having an outdoor ceremony, there is a forest alongside the dam. We also have the jasmine-covered arbour in our front garden which allows for guests to be seated on the grassed lawn with the Manor House behind them. Our accommodation has been graded as AA Highly Recommended and we can sleep up to 82 guests on the estate. Our Manor House has five oversized luxury en-suite bedrooms, all exquisitely themed for guests to enjoy the unique character of each. Our Guest House is surrounded by beautiful gardens with a gazebo and ornamental fountain, dams and forests. Set in the gardens are a further 23 en-suite garden rooms. These may be more suitable for larger groups or family getaways, being located a little further from the Manor.

Then our, “Outdoors With A Harvest Table On the Lawn” menu may be just what you are looking for. Whether its the “ Butler Service Canapes”, a cup of tasty soup from the crock pot or a plate full of tasty morsels. There’s something for everyone. With all the emotion that always happens when it’s just me, the nervous bride, and weeping dad waiting at the chapel doors ready to make a grand entrance, I can never remember if the bride is on the father's left or right!!! So this little stick figure drawing (I ain’t an artist!) is on the beam right above the chapel door to remind me! Our little happy metal sparrow in the entrance just because!!!

We're thrilled to be hosting Alanna for another workshop here at Calderwood.

EXPRESSIVE FLOWER PAINTING.
This workshop exposes students to a looser more expressive approach to painting. Over the 2 days students will learn how to use different brushes and other tools to capture the variious textures, and shapes of different flowers and leaves, pods and berries found in mixed arrangements. We will work from life as well as a selection of excellent examples of expressive artworks in this genre. Students will have a selection of canvases and images to choose from as well as all the brushes and paints needed to execute their paintings. The cost of R1900 covers all the materials needed for the workshop .

About 15 years ago, we celebrated the beautiful wedding of Skye and Rob at Calderwood Hall. Rob had made the beautiful cross and bench for the wedding and left it as a gift to us afterwards. Our quaint little Chapel Entrance is getting a much-needed makeover! It's looking so beautiful and is nearing completion. Did you know that the first section of our chapel was built in 1903 with bricks made in the river bed on the property? This room was known as the “larder” where all the fresh produce from the farm was kept cool.

A stunner of a day perfect for the Lunch Time wedding of Simon and Kerry at Calderwood Hall on 18 January 2024. Casual seating in the garden made for a very relaxed afternoon whilst guest enjoyed the Harvest Table Luncheon. Guests then moved into the Function room at sunset for a light meal and after party ! We're so grateful when guests share their experience of staying with us at Calderwood.

"Gerrie and I would like to commend and congratulate you on your establishment.

We found Calderwood Hall to be such a gracious and elegant building kept in very good condition – it was a delight having a few days “stake” in the house. We should have known as looking at the property every time we drive past one can see the extensive lawns are always beautifully mown.

I loved the way you opened your facilities to Kerry and Karl and their guests, it was home to them for the three days. I loved all the toys you provided for the children (and adults) to amuse themselves with after the wedding.

Your hospitality was outstanding, the catering so generous, the meals every one of them so tasty.

I was impressed by the way you or your staff member watched the afternoon tea and cocktail session checking that all was in order.

We have already driven past Calderwood Hall since the wedding and have only fond memories of the place.

When you pair up a Doctor and a You Tuber you end up with a wedding of absolute perfection ! Kerry and Karl were married at Calderwood on Saturday 04 January 2025 on what must have been the hottest day I have ever experienced in the 20 years that we have been here ! Simple but elegant decor in Hunters Green and White looked stunning . Even “Daisy” our faithful 1949 Ford Anglia came out to show off for the day ! So good to see Alexis Diack the official photographer again after a long while ! Chc Catering catered for her wedding 20 years ago and according to Alexis we have not “lost our touch” ! Thank you kind lady !
