This little guy was seen limping near the side of the road and after a lot of running around we finally managed to catch him… He is on the way to the vet for treatment and will hopefully be back on all four feet again soon!

The children from African Blessings and Loreto School Queenswood joined us for a tree planting ceremony to mark the special occasion of the opening of the African Hills Animal Sanctuary.

🥕🍎 The love and care you showed towards the donkeys was truly heartwarming. The delicious carrot and apple treats brought by the children was also greatly appreciated by our furry friends (the ponies and a few horses also managed to sneak in on the action); while the grooming, attention, and affection you gave them made a world of difference. 🐾💕

Situated on a stunning 167 HA farm with a series of dams and streams, there is an ample space to ride out on the security access controlled farm. Whether you need to practice trucking and familiarisation at new venues or simply enjoy cantering along our 5 - 10 degree 1 km track, African Hills, located just 20 min out of Pretoria is the venue of choice.

Paddocks or overnights can be arranged should you wish to make a weekend of it or simply enjoy a leisurely picnic after your ride.

On Tuesday the team found this "little" guy collapsed on the farm. They brought him back to the African Hills Animal Sanctuary where he was kept safe until the African Raptor Centre was able to collect him. We're incredibly grateful for the swiftness in being able to assist and the medical attention you were able to arrange for him. We look forward to following the rehabilitating this majestic bird. Thank you Owl Rescue Centre.

African Hills is very excited to announce that we are now an officially registered SAMAA Model Flying Club and will be hosting our first event for the year in conjunction with Fly FPV SA on 11 February 2023. 😁

The Gauteng Regional Qualifier will be held on 11 February 2023 and a fun day will be held on 12 February 2023.

Both events are open to the public. Day-passes can be purchased by clicking on the link below or on the African Hills online store. All SAMAA members are also invited to bring their quads out for a fly around on the fun day. Electrical charging sites are available close to the fly zones.

Shop hours and services update ☕️ Regrettably due to very unpredictable load shedding schedules and peak season drawing to a close, our shop will be closed on weekdays (Monday to Thursday) and open from 8:00 am to 12:30 on Fridays, weekends and public holidays. 😁 There were so many happy faces to greet us when we stopped at the outreach for the elderly in Zithibeni, Section 1 and Rethabeseng to commence the Season for Seniors drop-offs. 🎁 Thank you so very much to the team as well as all the Uni-Vision personnel who donated cash and goods towards this drive. You changed so many lives and reminded the individuals in these homes that they are not forgotten. 🥰

It’s that time of year again and African Hills is participating in the “Season for Seniors” collection drive. Each year, care packages are collected and distributed at various old age homes within the Pretoria area. Last year, over 250 care packages were collected, lets beat that mile stone this year!
