The fifth song from my latest V/A album is "Safe Word" by Gray Matter - State Alchemy Music

Gray Matter's style is one that is truly unique and forward thinking where musicality plays an important role and it is evident in the melodic undertones and alien harmonic found inside his music.

That said - Gray Matter's style of psytrance would be described as Night time / evening psytrance with a focus on funk, groove, rhythm - and most importantly - musicality.

Yaseen’s love for music begun at an early age and he began to pursue his passion for underground psychedelic music when he started djing in 2016. Since his debut DJ set in the Garden Route, at Sonic Revolution festival in the Tsitsikama forest, Eastern Cape. He rapidly became a household name across Cape Town, playing at indoor and outdoor events locally and nationally such as Urban Tribe’s - The Playground festival Vol. 3 2017 (KZN), SouthernTipsy - Deception 2018 (CT), Freaky Forest festival, STP - Winter Unleashed 2019, Our Minds festival 2019, Alien Safari - Masqued Ball 2020, Fungal Jungle 2022 (EC), Darker Dimensions - Abracadabra 2022 (KZN), STP - Exodus 2022 and Our Minds festival 2022.

Absolute Threshold is the solo Psychedelic Trance project of South African DJ Yaseen Hartley.

Yaseen’s love for music begun at a young age with a wide range of genres such as hip hop and rock music as a motivational platform… Following this path, he inevitably fell into the more underground end of things, appreciating the more technical, organic and psychedelic sounds.

Yaseen was always very passionate about music. Although DJ’ing started out as a hobby for him in early 2016, after having gone for his first DJ lessons with DJ Josh Mac, DJ'ing quickly manifested into a serious passion for him. With his consistent hard work and the development of his own unique style and sound, he has what it takes to get crowds warmed up with his full power psychedelic, deep melodic and groovy more aesthetic sound.

Absolute Threshold played his debut Psytrance DJ set in the Garden Route, at Sonic Revolution festival in the Tsitsikama forest, Eastern Cape.
