Another great mocktail party. Featured food - red pepper+feta frittata, ever popular spanish style meatballs, veggie springrolls with asian dip, curried chicken vol-au-vents. Also done, on site cooked lemongrass prawns, home baked foccacia with toppings, wedge salad skewers and mini meringues with berries - all served with delicious mocktails

Wednesday lunch inspiration:
Tuna Pasta - a great lunch to make and pack the night before!
Layer up in a jar (cooked pasta at the bottom, covered with tomato sauce - then tinned tuna, some greens, and whatever else takes your fancy - I like sweetcorn!) Perhaps a sprinkle of Parmesan on top. Think office envy...

Monday breakfast inspiration:
You know what's good about an omelette - it tastes great cold too! That means it's a great breakfast to take to work if, like most people, you don't have time / stomach to eat before leaving home in the mornings.

The secret to extra lightness in your omelette - separate the eggs, lightly beat the egg whites then fold back into the yolks. Add your own filling inspiration - cheese and rocket was mine this morning!

Weekend Inspiration:
Definitely time for some champagne! Ramp up the glam by adding cubes of obscenely pink dragonfruit (which turns your white champagne, your chopping board, your hands and everything within a mile radius very pink - but washes off easily!)
Dragonfruit sourced from Oranjezicht City Farm Saturday is market day!

Friday Supper Inspiration:

When it's just too hot for heavy, and you're too tired for faf, this is so tasty, delicious, fresh and easy to throw together!
The multiseed wrap and packet of trout from WOOLWORTHS SA is the basis for a delicious and light dinner. I spread a little garlic, chilli and olive oil over the base, grilled briefly to warm and crisp slightly. Then slathered tzaziki over the base - add the trout and garnish with fresh basil (that summer smell!).
Tuck in!

When the heat is on (and boy has Cape Town been delivering on that of late!), making a quick gazpacho is a very satisfying, cooling, refreshing thing.
This Mexican Gazpacho is from the always creative Jamie Oliver 's book Everyday Superfood.
Add the smug satisfaction of having four out of five of your "5-a-day" in one very tasty meal - happiness!

Monday breakfast inspiration:
What a prettily coloured smoothie this fruit combo makes. I like to make my smoothies with a base of plain yoghurt, milk to thin out to desired consistency, a dash of honey and then whatever medley of fruit I have available.
This one was a winner!
