This is a difficult post to write, especially as one does not want to admit publicly that one has been taken for a ride.

LSEC was scammed out of quite a few rand due to a very clever ran Government Tender Scam.

I am registered on the Government Database for Tenders and receive tender requests on a daily basis.

This is how the scam goes, very damn clever:

1. A fake website is established that is the only company in SA that sells the specific item that is on tender. The website looks great and professional. (This was the link I was looking for, my gut said it might be a scam, but how is it possible that they know you will go for this company?)
2. A fake tender request on official government paper work is released for that specific item. One would google who the company is that can supply it and the fake company appears on top of the list. Actually, it is the only company that supplies the fake product, so you automatically go with them.
3. They quote immediately. All professional, no sloppy looking paperwork etc. A lot of work went into making all look professional and legit. You quote and miraculously you win the tender. I have received all the paper work. Appointment Letter. Purchase Order. Etc. All signed and stamped. Until you enlarge the stamp to about 300% on .pdf and see it is just a .jpeg.
4. They ‘release and deliver’ the items upon you paying 50%.
5. ‘Government’ only pays on the delivery note, despite calling you to say they have ‘received’ the items.
6. Suddenly the company that ‘delivered’ does not want to release the delivery notes until you pay the rest of the money. They are even willing to negotiate on how much you are willing to pay for the delivery note. So, you are stuck in the middle and relieved of your hard earned money.

The tender request is fake.
The company supplying the items are fake.
Plus, there is someone part of the syndicate working in the bank keeping an eye on the bank account. Any whiff of an investigation and they disappear.

If you really feel you want to dabble in Government tenders, only do so via the Tender Portals online on the specific Government Website. All Government Official Websites have a 'tender' tab where you can check tenders - ones that are open, cancelled and awarded.

No tenders are released via e-mails. I for one will stay far, very far away from Government Tenders.

Atvoge Holdings
Cekila Electrical
Hlongwi Trading

Trust your gut. If something is too good to be true, 95% of the time it is fake.

If you think you have been involved in a scam, talk to your Bank's Fraud Line immediately and get to SAPS. Time is of essence.

Learn from my mistake. Please.
