21/05/2024. 16H00. Central Station received a report from a concerned member of the public, that there was a suspicious-looking cement block placed on the top of the Giel Basson bridge. Armed Response Officer J. Kleynhaus was dispatched, and found the cement block on the railing of a section of the bridge overhanging Plattekloof Road. As this was a safety hazard, and could fall or be thrown down on motor vehicles passing under it, Offer Kleynhaus removed the cement block. We thank the concerned citizen for their vigilance and reporting this.
