What does it mean to notify your musical works with SAMRO?

When you notify your music, you register it with SAMRO. This significantly improves the matching rate between playlists from music users and the SAMRO database so that you may be fairly compensated for royalties that might be due to you.

Protection lasts 50 years post-author's death for literary, musical, and artistic works. If published after death, protection lasts 50 years from publication. For joint works, copyright lasts 50 years after the last surviving author's death.
