My name is Charlene Paddey and due to hardships of covid, we all have went through, and some are still going through, I with the help of family started “Paddey’s Kitchen” we are based at the Cambridge Club and have been operating since September 2020 after the first covid lockdown ended. We have had a tough time over the last year (2021), with a couple more lockdowns and restrictions to our operating times due to the venue at which we operate from as our patrons are club members and those wishing for a cold one at one of the bars.
2022 is a new year and “Paddey’s Kitchen” is happy at the Cambridge Club and hopes to continue operating from there for a long to come. For this to happen the club needs some urgent help in respects to maintenance.
The Cambridge Sports Club has been in Cambridge for many years and most East Londoners have at some stage of their lives played sport at one the club facilities or been a member of the club and socialized at the bar with friends over the many years it has been open.
The club still offers its patrons, although not a traditional sports club anymore, Squash (Become a member), Snooker (League), Darts (League) and Pool (League or Social) and the bar facilities for those that just want to
relax. The patrons of the club vary from businessman, families, sportsman and bikers and we rely on all of them for the success of the kitchen going forward and thank them for all their support in the past which has helped us to keep our doors open.
As I mentioned earlier the club needs help and we need your help to get it done. Our wish list for the larger problems is:
Roof Repairs (inside and outside)
Perimeter fence (security reasons)
Advertising wall and Signage
Pavement (garden Service)
Driveway and Parking area
Tennis court Fencing
General care in painting the building
Brocken windows and doors
If there are any company’s big or small, members, patrons; families willing to help please contact me via email [email protected] and I will get back to you.
Unfortunately, the club has no maintenance fund so this will be donations either as products, vouchers from a hardware store or cash.
However, we are bringing back the “buy a brick fund” which means for all those that help and donate with any donation over R250.00 to the club your Company or family name will go on a brick on one of the club walls for everyone to see your generosity. For the larger donation your name will go up on wall at the entrance of the club.
If you wish to remain anonymous, we grant you that and thank you in advance for your generosity.
I look forward to your email and help in any way, if all if us come together Cambridge club will still be around for our children and gran children to enjoy.
Thank you for caring
Charlene Paddey
