Leading the culinary team, the successful candidate will deliver exceptional dining experiences at our diverse venue, catering for up to 2 000 guests at a time.

Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development: Create and design diverse menus for various events, ensuring high-quality, innovative and seasonal dishes, catering to a wide range of dietary preferences and requirements.
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and manage kitchen staff, while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Kitchen Operations: Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation, while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
Inventory Management: Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining supplies, and ensure cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation, ensuring every dish meets our high standards.
Event Coordination: Work closely with event coordinators and clients to customise menus and ensure seamless ex*****on of dining services during events.
Budget Management: Develop and manage kitchen budgets, control costs, and optimise profitability, while maintaining exceptional quality.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and industry standards.

Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a high-volume, upscale catering or banquet kitchen environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Education: Culinary degree or equivalent professional training from a recognised culinary institution.

Skills:
Exceptional culinary skills with a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a high-pressure environment.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create and execute innovative menus tailored to client needs.
Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects as needed.

EXCITING NEWS!
As one of South Africa’s premier mountain biking events, we are proud to announce that we are the finish line for the Trans Baviaans!

The 24-hour Mountain Bike Marathon route starts in Willowmore and ends here at Mentors Country Estate. The first race will take place on 10 August, and the repeat race on 17 August.

The Algoa National Rally is one of the most popular rallying events on the South African motorsport calendar and is not to be missed. The event takes place over 2 days between Mentors Country Estate in Jeffreys Bay and the fast and windy roads of the Longmore Forest.

The dirt starts flying on Friday, the 5th of July 2024 at 13:00 from Mentors Country Estate, followed by multiple stages in the Longmore Forest during the day and nighttime. The second day's action kicks off early on Saturday morning, at 08:00 from Mentors Country Estate, whereafter the Longmore forest will see another 4 stages, and then back to Mentors Country Estatefor the final stage of Day 2, at about 14:30.

We have recommended list of spectator GPS spots which will assist you in getting to the best spot to see Neels & Rikus, as well as almost 30 other rally cars:
