Karaoke is open for all individuals, whether competing or not. Normal karaoke will commence while competitors battle it out in between and over the course of the night. The layout of organised karaoke will be as such:
Arrangement may differ depending on number of competitors. Competitors will be judged on their performance and ability by a panel of random judges. Competitors will receive a startin
g 5 point for arriving dressed as a star of the vocal world. From there on, all performances will be rated out of 10 by each individual judge. While regular participants may book any slot open to them at any time – competitors names will be drawn from a hat to fill places. There will be 3 rounds for each competitor to show their stuff! Everybody wins in this hilarious challenge! However there will be one outright winner that will receive a prize from Rumours Rock City – as well as a super stars champagne. Participants are welcome to join after the competition is already underway, however, they will not receive points for activities already missed, and will only be allowed to compete in the following round. Here are the rules:
Step up to the stage and spin the wheel, perform depending on the designated spin:
- Gotta Git Down! – Perform the most entertaining dance for the judges to win their favour!
- Test Your Tenacity! – Perform a song of your choice without the words on the screen! Trust me, we will know!
- Oh Boy…It’s a Steve Song! – Steve gets to choose your song for you this round! So sorry! A thumbs up from Steve will give you 5 extra points! A thumbs down will get you -5 points!
- Three’s a Crowd! – Get 2 of your homies up on stage to kill with your pop group! Or two other competitors will be drawn from the hat to help you perform a killer crowd performance! Must be a boy band – girl band – pop trio etc.
- Gotta Give Props! – Deliver a mesmerizing performance with the prop provided to you by the judges! Better use equals better score!
- It’s a RAP BATTLE! – Pick one of 10 provided popular rap songs of varying difficulty. More points for more difficulty! Less points for dropping the ball!
- Not Air Head, Air Guitar! – Pick one of 10 extended guitar solo songs and show off those flashy air guitar skills developed over years of practice! Performance of song counts only slightly less than performance of ROCK!
- Karaoke K-nowledge! – Before the competition starts, participants and competitors put songs suggestions into a hat – the contestant will have to perform that song to the best of their ability! As always, there will be amazing drink specials for courage and stamina! Most importantly - ITS FREE!
