Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup softened butter
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp Bicarb
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups Chocolate Chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Heat oven to 190deg c.
180deg c on thermofan

2. Beat 1 cup of butter, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar and 1 tsp vanilla in large bowl with mixer until creamy.
Add 2 eggs; beat well.

3. Stir together 2 1/4 cups of flour, 1 tsp bicarb and 1/2 tsp salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in 2 cups of Chocolate Chips and 1 cup of chopped nuts, if desired. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
