IBMA 2026 Conference to Take Place in Gqeberha, South Africa

Gqeberha, South Africa - [09 January 2024] - The International Conference on Business Models in Agriculture (IBMA) is set to make its mark in Gqeberha, South Africa, in 2026. The prestigious event, which focuses on evolving business models in agriculture, will be hosted by Gqeberha following a successful bid initiated by NMB Conferences, with full support from the local NMB Convention Bureau.

The IBMA Conference is an international gathering that commenced its journey in Rwanda, with subsequent editions scheduled in Rwanda again in 2024 and in Kenya in 2025. The decision to host the 2026 conference in Gqeberha speaks volumes about the city's dedication to advancing agricultural development on a global platform.

IBMA’s Founder, Mr Isaac Kagara said “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Gqeberha, South Africa, for submitting an impressive bid to host the highly anticipated 4th edition of the IBMA conference. Throughout the process, we have received and continue to receive overwhelming support from the National Convention Bureau and NMB Conferences, and have fostered strong relationships with local suppliers. We look forward to further strengthening these partnerships as we work together to create an unforgettable conference experience.”

With the conference set to attract global delegates, industry leaders, and innovators in agriculture, Gqeberha anticipates a substantial economic boost. The influx of attendees is expected to generate millions of Rands in revenue for the city, further underlining Gqeberha's position as a thriving hub for innovation and business growth.

Shuling Lindoor, MMC for Economic Development, Tourism and Agriculture (EDTA) said “The region's agricultural landscape holds immense potential, and this conference will provide a pivotal platform for industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to converge, exchange ideas, and chart the course for a sustainable and prosperous future. Looking ahead, Nelson Mandela Bay's urban agriculture and processing and export capabilities will take centre stage at the conference.”

We have the privilege of attending Africa 2023 thanks to our wonderful team at the Nelson Mandela Bay municipality and we are excited to be there representing the amazing suppliers and venues our city has to offer.

Our goal is to promote the city to as many of the hosted buyers as possible, in an effort to bring more business events to the city, and i tell you, our meetings calendar is FULL! It's going to be amazing.

Meetings Africa, the continent’s premier business events industry gathering, has exceeded its target of 350 exhibitors who will showcase their products and services to global buyers. So far, 352
