We have come to the end of the nine week catering marathon for POP24 the in-house production team of Media 24. We have served 968 plates of food from 67 different dishes without repeating any dishes. It was challenging but so rewarding even getting up at 4am to deliver breakfast at 6am or deliver lunch at 12pm at two locations 25km apart. Some meals had to be vegetarian, low carb, dairy free, gluten free, no peanuts, only chicken, no tomato and no onion. Many thanks and appreciation to Ryno and Lea for trusting us with this huge project.

We have the privilege of doing catering for POP24, the in-house production company of Media24. We are halfway with this 9 week project. The brief is low-carb, healthy, tasty meals and include vegetarian, non-dairy, no sugar and no pork meals as well.
We love being creative with food and design our own recipes and menus that tantalise and surprise.

We had the honour to do catering for our valued client, Isabel Jacobs Properties. We served Beef Barley & Vegetable as well as Creamy Chicken Noodle & Corn soup, accompanied by variuos artisan breads with a variety of sweet and savoury toppings.

A pleasant morning with great weather and lovey sunshine to cater for the baby tea of Caroline and Janke’s little girl.

A variety of savoury and sweet cocktail food items were served.

For the savoury we did mini croissants with egg-mayo and bacon, cheese and corn samosas, chicken and mushroom quiches and honey and soya chicken sosaties with roasted sesame seeds.

For the sweet we did home made lemon cheesecakes with berry compote, peppermint crisp tartlets and mini koeksisters.

A grand affair took place at the Kretschmann Art Gallery in Menlyn Main. The year-end function for Isabel Jacobs Properties was held on Wednesday evening and what a joyfull and spectacular event it was.

What a privilege it was to do the official Roof Wetting Ceremony of this amazing building, Weelee’s Megastore in Eco Park, Midstream. Congratulations to the owners, their staff and Irene and her development team from MnT.

Attendees were treated to a variety of hot and cold savoury finger foods as well as a fully stocked gin and bear bar.

Summer is here and time for light, fresh and crisp summer salads and platters made with a variety of fresh vegetables and herbs, cold meats and cocktail sausages, artisan cheeses, fresh berries, pastries, pickles and olives.

We had the privilege to do this private event for Carin and Gus Liebenberg, it was Gus’s 50th and what a perfect summer evening it was. Guests were greeted with an arrival cocktail, called “The Gus” that we especially designed for the occasion. Arrival snacks were served and gave guests the opportunity to meet and mingle.
ATRIUM did the planning, setup, decor and catering. The colour scheme was black and gold with accents of red and for dinner we did lamb on the spit with accompanying salads and side dishes like spit-braised onions and potatoes, chutney chicken, pumpkin fritters with caramel sauce and broccoli and cauliflower gratin. For dessert, icecream and chocolate sauce, moist carrot cake and a rich dark chocolate cake were served.

Yesterday family and friends paid their last repect to my cousin Thys van Staden at his memorial service. We were honourd to do the catering for the event and we want to say thank you to my nieces, Lizelle van Vuuren and Suzette van Niekerk for the opportunity. We appreciate all the compliments we’ve received. Satisfaction for us is when we see how much people are enjoying our style and food.

One of our favourite type of events we like to do ….. LAMB ON THE SPIT and I can proudly say, we do it well. A big “thank you” to our clients, Annelie and Jaco for giving us the opportunity to be of service. Their friends, a group from America, have experienced a typical South African braai with salads, vetkoek with jam and butter, baby new potatoes, pumpkin fritters with caramel sauce, roasted veggies, chutney chicken and the succulent lamb meat, and for dessert, SA’s famous Malva pudding with custard alongside our home-made truffles.

What a privilege we had to cater for Johan Steyn and family to celebrate the live of his dear mother-in-law.

We did a variety of canapés and finger foods like our Barbecue Fillet Skewers with onion and bell peppers, Thai-style Chicken Strips tossed in a savoury-sweet marinade with toasted sesame seeds and fresh cilantro, Caprese Skewers with herb-crusted mozzarella balls, salami, cocktail tomato and fresh basil, drizzled with a pomegranate balsamic reduction, Bobotie and Pastry Tulips with home made chutney, Tomato Cheese & Pesto Pastry Squares to name but a few.

Accompanying home-made dipping sauses were our smokey barbecue, tangy mustard mayo, sweet-pepper chutney with yogurt and a authentic tzatziki sauce.

Another successful day. We did catering for a light lunch at Kretschmann Art Gallery for the BNI group training session. Thanks to Belinda and Morné, the owners of the gallery. Looking forward to do the upcoming events.

On the menu: Orange, Clove and Cinnamon infused Butterbut soup with Homemade Garlic Baguettes. Savoury Platters with tangy sweet chilly and mango chutney dipping sauce as well as a Crudités & Fresh Fruit Platter with humus and tomato pesto. Absolutely delicious.
