NEWS: Emergency services personnel are attending to the accident scene on the R40 near TUT in Mbombela Mpumalanga.

Reports indicate that the BMW was travelling at high speed coming from Barberton side, heading to Nelspruit when its driver lost control and collided with a bakkie that was heading towards Barberton from Mbombela.

One person has passed on and another seriously injured.

Traffick officers are controlling the movement of motorists in a stop and go format.

Four suspected Putco buses arsonists, Luthando Trevor Skhosana (37), Isaac Mabhena (29), Mduduzi Masango (31) and Steven Mthombeni (27) appeared before Mdutjana Magistrate Court today for bail application,as they are facing malicious damage to properties,business robbery and assault.

The foursome have been arrested for torching 51 buses at Putco three depots, Moloto Maphotla and Thabana.

Three suspects are first time offenders and one was previously convicted for theft.

The case was postponed to next week Wednesday,19 February 2025 for bail application.

‼️ ALERT: DANGEROUS BOLT DRIVER – PLEASE SHARE! ‼️

My friend was robbed and nearly killed by a Bolt driver operating a vehicle with number plate JN 61 KP GP. Please be extremely cautious and avoid requesting a ride from this driver!

Here’s what happened:
• She requested a Bolt ride, and the driver arrived wearing a hoodie, making it difficult to see his face.
• Shortly after picking her up, he stopped at a traffic light, where a second man (with his face covered) forced his way into the car.
• When she tried to escape, she realized the doors were locked.
• She was held at gunpoint and forced to unlock her phone and give access to her banking apps, passwords, and PINs.
• They then drove her onto the freeway and counted to three before forcing her to jump out of the moving car.
• Thankfully, she survived, but all her bank accounts were emptied.

This is organized crime, and Bolt needs to take responsibility for vetting their drivers properly! If anyone has information about this driver, please report it immediately!

⚠️ Stay safe! Always check your driver’s face and number plate before getting into a ride. If something feels off, cancel the trip!

MEC CATHY DLAMINI VISITED PETER MOKABA PRIMARY SCHOOL

The MEC for Education, Ms. Cathy Dlamini, visited Peter Mokaba Primary School in KwaMhlanga, Thembisile Hani Local Municipality this morning.

The purpose of the visit was for the MEC to receive a report on the fire that damaged the school's administration, take stock of the current state of affairs at the school and engaged with the school management and the school governing body about the remedial measures that would ensure uninterrupted learning and teaching.

As an interim remedial measure, the Department will secure a mobile office to ensure that the administration activities of the school are not compromised.

In addition , the Department is consolidating a process of replacing the food supplies and other items that were lost in the fire.

The MEC urged the community to work with the police to find those who are behind this.

So far, teaching and learning progressed well today.

The police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to this unfortunate incident.

The Department will continue to support the school and to monitor the developments very closely.
