In 1957, Ford took a bold leap into the jet age with a brand-new lineup that was longer, lower, and wider than its ’56 predecessors.

These sleek, safer, and better-handling vehicles marked a significant shift in Ford’s design language, embracing modernity with style and substance.

The 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Victoria Club Coupe was a standout in this lineup, featuring a redesigned suspension, driveline, and a wider frame that prioritized passenger protection.

Ford’s efforts paid off handsomely—these cars became the bestsellers of 1957, outselling Chevrolet for the first time since 1935, a remarkable achievement considering Chevy’s enduring popularity.

With modest fins, gleaming chrome, and sleek greenhouses, the ’57 Fords offered a more upscale look that set them apart from the competition.

The top-of-the-line Fairlane 500 models even sported a distinctive gold anodized side trim that added an extra touch of elegance. The pillarless hardtop, named Victoria, was a highlight, with the ‘Club Victoria’ serving as the stylish 2-door version.

Inside, the new curved instrument panel featured recessed control k***s for added safety, along with a new sweep-hand speedometer. For Ford enthusiasts, 1957 marked the year Ford truly embraced the future, creating their first genuinely modern car.
