Firstly, I would like to thank our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for His hand over EVERYTHING we accomplished at The Midrand Shakedown

Bass Wars Africa would like to thank Nevlyn Naidoo and Team Xzibit Audiofor always giving us the opportunity to work with them. Together we created an INCREDIBLE Event. We pride ourselves in maintaining professional business relationships and growing to greater heights together. We thank the Team for their dedication and commitment towards this event and growing the sport with us.
We look forward to a continual and successful collaboration.

The Midrand Shakedown was a tremendous success, that brought together all OUR competitors, making the event an amazing experience to witness. Our audio community came together to share our personal bests in the lane and honour Monique Joubert in her fight against cervical cancer.
We had some very special moments during the course of the day with one of the main ones being the raffle hosted by IASCA Gauteng and the generous donations received from some of the teams.

Some of the sound highlights:

Roupesh Koosialee Team Targa made his first appearance at Bass Wars with his vehicle - THE BEAST - and achieved a WORLD Record in the High Voltage class with a 179.77 db's. ( We would like to express our gratitude to our latest sponsors, Uncle Zahid and Team Targa, for the contribution towards our new branding and marketing campaign)

Len Potgieter of Team Starsound made a comeback with his Extreme Vehicle - ROOKIE GONE MENTAL. He achieved a whopping 178.76 db's in High Voltage, placing him second in the world. This was Len's first time on the Bass Wars format, and he enjoyed it immensely.

Babayega from Team Xzibit powered by Starsound also competed for the first time at Bass Wars and achieved a 170.97 db's in the High Voltage class. A new personal best for Nevlyn, placing him fourth in the world.

Rashika Singh was the only female who competed, achieving a new personal best of 155.87 db's and placing on the top 10 lists for both Unleashed Trunk and Boss categories.

Bradley Walker of Team Future Audio was over the moon with his personal best of 163.70 db's , and Jason Walker, owner of Future Audio maintaining his spot on the top 10 list with 163.76 db's in Unleashed No Walls. The Walker brothers are doing SA proud once again.

Vino Naidoo of Ananzi Technologies came through with Bruce Naidoo’s walled Corsa and posted an impressive 163.17 db's, a new world record in Leashed Wall ( The Competition Bug has bit again and he is very excited to be back in the lane after he witnessed the camaraderie and sportsmanship at our show)

Andre Ricardo Ernest of Team BassMasters achieved a new personal best with 153.23 db's in Bandit and a massive Port Wars score of 175.82 db's . ( We would like to thank Andre for being instrumental in our sponsorship deal with Powerbass SA)

Rowan Meyer worked his magic again with his single 12 inch Powerbass Neo woofer and reached his new level of success with 159.27 db's. This makes him the loudest single 12 inch setup in Africa. Keep pushing, the 160 db is around the corner.

Quintin Wallace Team Future Audio made his comeback after many months, achieving 159.79 db's. Keep an eye on Quintin. We see that 160 db mark on the horizon.

Special thanks to Granger Salto Nieuwoudt and Bradley William Samuels for making a trip up to Johannesburg to assist and support our local teams.

In an explosive finale, we saw Team Xzibit's Dennis Reddy with his Green Lantern Microbus take on Team Future Audios Bradley Walker in his walled UTE - Godzilla. These gents put their vehicles through their paces, and it was an absolute nail bitter. Bradley Walker took the honour's with an average score of 159.73 db's after 3 minutes.

To EVERY competitor that entered and got to play at Bass Wars Africa, to every Show & Shine entrant that got to be judged and be part of the ONLY WORLDWIDE Show & Shine Format, it was an absolute pleasure watching you all compete, helping you guys understand the rules and see you do your best. You all did extremely well, and we are so proud of you guys. We applaud each of you for the patience you all showed, waiting in queues for hours, whilst accommodating the extreme vehicles and some demos in the lanes.
