We are pleased to announce the Digital Photographer of the Year Awards have officially opened for entries!
Enter now for your chance to win some fantastic new Samsung kit. The Awards will be divided into ten sections and the final winner of each one will win a Samsung NX30 and kit lens worth £899.99. The competition is open to residents of the UK only and is open for entries until 20/11/14. The awards will be judged by celebrity and fashion photographer Dan Kennedy, Senior News Photographer for Getty images Peter Macdiarmid, Landscape pro Mark Bauer and Digital Photographer editor Amy Squibb.

About the judges…
Peter Macdiarmid, senior news photographer for Getty images
Peter Macdiarmid has photographed cover assignments all over the world for The Independent and The Daily Telegraph newspapers, as well as working for Reuters before joining Getty Images as senior news photographer in 2005. Peter’s work has been recognised with awards from the Picture Editor’s Awards and has also been named News Photographer of The Year by the Press Photographers Year Awards and recently became a Pulitzer finalist for his work on the Arab Spring.
Dan Kennedy, celebrity and fashion photographer
Dan Kennedy has photographed for major publications from The Guardian, to Glamour, Heat, Hello and The Independent. He’s photographed celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Kiera Knightly, David Beckham, Madonna and Naomi Campbell, as well as working for major fashion labels Lacoste and River Island. He’s also worked with companies as diverse as ITV, Nikon and the BBC.
Mark Bauer, landscape photographer
Regular contributor to Digital Photographer Mark Bauer is a professional landscape photographer based in Dorset. He is the author of two coffee table books – Romantic Dorset and Perfect Wiltshire – and co-author (with Ross Hoddinott) of a photography technique book, The Landscape Photography Workshop.
Amy Squibb, Editor of Digital Photographer
Digital Photographer‘s editor Amy Squibb has been working in the publishing industry for over 8 years, previously leading sister title Photography for Beginners, a publication granted the Plain English award. A keen gig and portrait photographer, Amy loves exploring new products and trying out new techniques.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Ten prizes are available, one Samsung NX30 and 18-55mm lens for each category of the Awards. Prizes will be awarded and presented after December 2014. The exact date and time will be confirmed with the winners closer to the event. Winners will need to cover their own travel and related expenses. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash and Imagine Publishing has the right to substitute the prize with an item of equal or higher value. The editor’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. This competition is only open to UK residents.
