We have established a parents support whatsapp group with the intention to create a dialogue that can help us understand the real problems of black parents, through engagement and in order for us to develop a realistic business model for our community.

The support group is a place to come together with other parents to share feelings, exchange sustainable parenting practices based on each of our own personal experiences and develop a lasting supportive network.

The group currently has 13 participants, a combination of mothers, fathers and guardians who have been contributing in keeping the group productive and insightful. Some of the comments covered thus far are the following:

* Family Structures - Nuclear, Single Parenting, extended.
* Gentle / Soft Parenting Approach compared to the traditional authoritarian parenting approach
* The importance of effective discipline for children.
* Choosing godparents and their roles.
* The influence and roles of feminine and masculine energies in the development of children.

This week we will be discussing the value of play for younger children’s development and how to initiate it.

We will host a monthly recap of the topics that have been shared, where we get to discuss further thoughts, feedback on tasks and activities suggested in the group. We hope to grow the engagement if the group, you’re welcome to join via the link below:

ELECTRICAL CIRCUT WORKSHOP:

Learning about electrical circuit is a rewarding and important activity for young children. It allows them to have a good knowledge base from which to progress with their scientific understanding as they grow and in their academic career. The workshop is created using simple analogies that reinforce the basics of creating an electrical circuts.

This will help children learn about the simple electrical circuit, and give them a sound theoretical grounding. Using this, they will be able to progress with their studies and deal later with more complex scientific concepts.

TODDLER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM:

We believe small children deserve a nurturing, stimulating, play-filled and educational environment. The Asemi Micro Nursery School has created the Toddler Development Program dedicated for toddlers to be aware about the following facets of their lives:

• Personal, Emotional & Social
• Communication, language & Literature
• Physical Awareness & Activity

The program aims to stumilate and integrate the minds of the little ones, forming a good foundation for them to be bright, aware & ready for their next level of education.

We are a micro nursery school, home-based and enrol a very small number of children so we can monitor their progress and to ensure the effectiveness of our program.

The Toddler Development Program is created by educated & trained professionals who are doing extensive research to ensure the program is impactful. The program is play-based & creative.

ASEMI KIDDIES SKILLS WORKSHOPS:

We would like to introduce to you - The Asemi Kiddies Skills Workshops.

Our most fundemental objective is PLAY. Through this platform we aim to use play- based methods to enrich and educate children to assist them to be well integrated as they grow.

The workshops are tailored in order to help children learn how to solve real-world problems through project based learning. Led by our qualified facilitators, the children get to work together to promote teamwork - to identify, research and solve problems within each workshop. The goal is to provide children with a good foundation of skill-sets and strengths to assist them in their development into adulthood.

We had the pleasure of Assisting Mhlobo with his Grade 8 Technology project of constructing a bridge. From picking the right materials, to cutting them and assembling the bridge. We had challenges along the way but this taught Mhlobo to always think of alternative ways to solve technical problems. Finally it all came together✨

Hello Asemi Family😊✨

The Kiddies Club is welcoming new members🙌

We have new programs you can all be part of:

1. Science Experiments
2. Play & Games
3. Crafts
4. Sightseeing

Parents / Gaudian form part of the club both for participation and supervision. When kiddies join the program, they get to partake in all of our programs or as they choose.

Our next club meet up will be a fun day at the park for some PLAYTIME. Various fun games & sport will be played. Kiddies & Parents / Gaurdians are all invited. Clubs forms will be available for those who would like to join the club.

Hello Asemi Family✨

We're happy to be back and in such a way😁 we had a pleasure of Babysitting Uminathi & Iminathi who were booked in for leisure time. This is Iminathi's first time in Gqebherha, her aunt booked us so she can explore, have fun and to create moments to treasure here in the city. We went for a short trip to Apiarista Bee Farm as they were hosting a summer evening event, we got to enjoy the beautiful scenery, enjoy a cosy night by the fire, have some hot chocolate, play some board games, eat and snack😁 Home time was a hard time to accept but loads of fun was had😉😆🙌

RE: ARMED ROBBERY REPORT

It is with sad news to announce that on Saturday, 19/11/21 at exactly 23:17 there was a break-in at the Asemi Nursery. We were babysitting for the night when this occurred, two armed men broke in and threatened everyone taking with them the TV inside the nursery, phones and a pair of branded sneakers of one of the kids. Gladly no one was physical hurt but it is without a doubt a traumatic experience, especially for the kids who were there to witness all of this.

More importantly we will be seeking post-traumatic stress therapy where it’s need, available and within our means, especially for the children.

This is a major setback for the company, however as a company that offers services that cater for children, the most vulnerable people in the world. it is our duty to ensure we create a safe environment for the children.
our immediate response is to tighten safety measures, a special thank you to one of our supporters who has offered to assist in the installation of security gates for the nursery.

We have reached out to Zukisa Malume Festile who is the owner of Malume Playground, a family playing centre. Much like us Zukisa recently also suffered a robbery in his business, when burglars came in and took the equipment in his game centre, resulting to a major loss. As people who are running businesses in kids Entertainment, we feel it is important for us to come together in campaigning and sharing an awareness regarding children’s safety and crime against small businesses.

As Asemi Concepts we believe that play is an essential part in child’s social life and it also helps in their development. No one needs this like children who live in townships, for this reason we will continue to do our best in providing these services for the children that really need them.

Our very mission is to show children that there are better things that they can live up too than turn out to be the criminals who robbed us, giving up would be us failing our mission.

We would like to announce that we are still in business, however we will only be taking Day bookings, night-time bookings are currently paused until further notice.

This sunday was spent with yet another returning Asemi kiddie😁
Umi.

Umi was booked in for some leisure and fun, his mom shared with us that he has been begging for this day😁 (check screenshot images below❤️)

The day starting off at Asemi - Babysitting Services Nursery where a game of snakes & Ladders was played. Right after the expeditions of the day started, we went to watch a game of cricket that was held at Claredon Primary School - Zwide vs New Brighton. Followed by a trip to SANCCOB to watch the feeding of the penguins as well as see baby penguins swim. We also got to have some fun viewing the many sea animals placed in the exhibition room, we got to play some toys there as well. We went to the braai spot where we made some hotdogs and enjoyed our lunch and snacks. Next we got to view the beautiful light house and surrounding scenery around Cape Recife and we played sliding in the sand dunes, we headed home after all that fun😊.

Umi thanked us in his words he said "Thank you for bringing me to this treasure😁"

Bring your kids to Asemi concepts - Babysitting services whether it is for your convenience or for their leisure. Let them experience this unforgettable world of fun😁

At Asemi we encourage children to learn through meaningful play.

Zaza booked again this weekend and we where there to give her an experience of fun and exploration.

We accompanied her to her first swimming lessons❤️ thereafter we went for some ice cream and went plant shopping, went book shopping where we got to read a few stories. Next we went straight to the garden and Zaza got to plant the lavender plant into the soil. Thereafter endless fun was had playing her favourite toys from the toy treasure box. bed time came and we read a bed time story she picked herself.😍

This is now the third week little Zaza’s parents have booked our babysitting services, this time we got to be booked for our first babysitting sleepover😊❤️

Zaza’s parents are delighted with our services, moreover Zaza has found another home at Asemi. Zaza’s Mom sent a message saying (as seen on the screenshot picture below):

“Oh no thank you, My daughter loves and that means a lot to Nathi and I”

We’re proud to know that it’s not just a service we give, but a place the little ones can be loved, cared for and enjoy endless fun.💞💞

Here’s a brief summary of everything we got up to:

Our night almost went a little sour because of loadshedding, but that never stopped us. We played with some balls in the yard, lit a fire in the indoor fireplace for marshmallow roasting and some braai for supper. Snacked while playing with some toys from the treasure box.

When the electricity came back, we got to watch some cartoons, went to sit by the fireplace while we read some stories and having supper and more snacks🙈. Bedtime came and it was story time again, Zaza’s Mom had shared sNal'ibalibali stories and we chose to read a story called “little Mouse” and that was the end of the night, everyone went to sleep.

The morning was quick, we woke up, bathed, ate some breakfast and watched some cartoons, played with some toys while waiting for pick up time. Zaza’s Mom arrived soon after and that was the end of the babysitting session, it’s always a sad time but we are assured there will be a next time😁🙌🏽✨

This weekend we got to babysit sweet Zaza, we got up to a lot of fun😁

Zaza got to play to her heart’s desire from our toy treasure box. We played games, we got artsy by colouring our animal themed colouring books, We read stories for her and we also got to find out that Zaza is an amazing story teller, we listened to her create from her imagination the most amazing stories - we will be sharing Zaza’s stories soon😅🙌🏽

Home time was hard for both Zaza and Us😌❤️

Our nursery was turned upside down because it was a party right through😂

The Asemi Kiddies Club came together today to join one of the members do a school project😁 The project entailed creating your own sock puppet. luckily for them we also had rehearsals for "Pinky - The Flamingo Musical Puppet show" which will be on show at the Nursery & Baby-Care Launch. This is the best moment to come out of our outing You can see the Lion pacing around stalking us, it is said that lions sometimes stalk their prey and don't charge until they are close, unless the prey is facing away and cannot see the charge.
