We were lucky to work at venues this week with breathtaking views - Rockets Bryanston your upstairs venue definitely ticked the box! Thank you to Tyrone and Kerri Mclaren… the gorgeous hot pink and bright orange colours in our flowers for this Aruba event made us happy! And The Catalyst team’s attention to detail is always amazing

What an incredible event with my favourite client . Magnificent 360 degree views at The Leonardo’s Level 45 venue and a hugely successful event for Tourvest Travel Services’ Supplier Showcase. No need for boring venues with this brave client … the 45th floor was transformed into a unique exhibition space like no other. Boy did those lifts work hard! A big thank you to my team and all my suppliers

So proud of my team for executing this beautiful event for Omnia's celebration of International Women's Day. A gorgeous sleek stage and set design, with a touch of green florals to set the backdrop for an inspiring talk and interactive session with Caster Semenya and Omnia staff. We kicked off 2024 with this amazing event by The Catalyst Africa for the HP Partner Awards. We loved being brought in from the start of the pitch to brainstorm concepts and ideas.
The brief: to create a show stopping event with high tech futuristic elements, with an "Avatar" type feel. To use natural textures, sustainable green florals and eco friendly accents in the decor, for an elegant Awards evening celebrating the concept of "sustainovation".
We contrasted glossy white and wooden tables with natural rattan and raw textures, green foliage and florals and re-usable succulents, incredible lush green foliage walls, with LED lighting effects on the photo walls and ceiling creating an out-of-this-world glow.
The result: breathtaking!
Amazing to be a part of this team on this event, with all the attention to detail in all they created - thank you Kerry from The Catalyst for bringing us on board.

A beautifully decorated space with touches of Africa and Scotland, delicious food, a whisky tasting and the smooth sounds of African Jazz, created the perfect backdrop for this event. It was a meeting of minds, businesses and a sharing of opportunities at the Cocktail event hosted by Tourvest Travel Services. Rich amber hues, wooden rustic accents and touches of tartan created the mood. Thank you to my favourite client for including us. We loved how everyone laughed, chatted and enjoyed the evening!

What I love about events is that you can create anything, anywhere!
In Johannesburg in mid-winter at a conference with one venue for day and night ... ? No problem!
We will create an Ibiza beach feel experience inside, totally transforming a conference setup into a casual relaxed chilled seating area ready for your guests to party the night away.
Did I mention we did this in two hours whilst the guests had cocktails outside ...!

Amazing branding details throughout this incredible event for Atmosphere '23 and HPE Aruba, put together by A-Plus Communications and The Catalyst Africa. Thank you for including as part of your team. From formal conference setups, to bright outside lounge areas and lunch seating, to the chilled Ibiza themed party at the end - it was a visual and sensory experience! With only two hours to turn around from the conference session in the afternoon, we created an amazing Ibiza feel beach party with chill pods, bean bags and umbrellas - a complete turnaround and absolutely stunning! Well done to my team and thank you to my amazing suppliers.

What fun to work with the concept and create the styling for this event with the lovely Edith and Andrew from Edith Venter Promotions. From the cocktail party announcing the nominees to the prestigious advertising awards ceremony, we could play with pops of bright colour in the decor, styling and furniture to our hearts content! Baba Nelson Makhokha
A tribute to a very special man, Baba Nelson, whom I have known and worked with for a very long time - almost twenty years. He was loved by clients, guests and his fellow entertainers alike and captivated all our hearts with his toothless smile and pennywhistle melodies. He regaled us with stories about old town Jo'burg and Sophia Town, and on all our travels to different events loved telling us about his beloved Venda and the snakes that are found there! He was an inspiration to all his fellow entertainers with his strong work ethic and was fitter and healthier than all of us half his age (he told us he was strong because he never touched drink!) Without fail he would phone me every month to check on me and my family and once said if he was a younger man he would have married me to make sure I was looked after! Baba Nelson you will be missed and always remembered for the wonderful person and musician that you were.
